We apparently considered trading with New Orleans to add future picks but Green Bay wasn't ready to talk deal.

That sounds like it could have been an offer pitched to the Packers before Denver was on the clock Thursday night. That opportunity has passed but it doesn't mean they cant still offer a 1,2 & 3 in 2022 plus a first in 2023. While that would be a big bite, it wouldn't be as bad as the "three firsts" being bandied about by talking heads. Many think the Packers won't pull the trigger until after the end of May for salary cap reasons.
I'd rather give up 3 #1s than our top 3 picks in the next 2 drafts. You can make up firsts via free agency, but losing 6 solid pick opportunities would bury a team IMO.

That makes a ton of sense to me.

Because in many instances second round picks are almost, or are, pseudo firsts. Two examples. 1 - the obvious one of the draft class is super strong and guys with legitimate first round grades just drop out. This is bolstered by bad GM's reaching for lesser/poorly evaluated talents. Another example is it's a normal/even below average draft class for overall talent. But, one position is especially stacked. That can be bolstered by how deep the FA market was at that position because if a handful of top corners got paid it's pretty clear you might have fewer teams going for them in the draft. 2. Sometimes you get the opposite. The draft class kinda blows for what you need and you have to go to a different position/s that is/are deep/er and you can get the same result, just in a different way.

tl;dr the specifics and nuances of a single draft class is complex and will never truly mirror another, so it's unsurprising you can find facts that make a second round pick commensurate, or in the ballpark (almost a pung) to a first.

Plus, next years draft will be bigger than ever, I say “bigger”, not “loaded” because all of the players that got an extra year of eligibility due to COVID19. This is the lowest amount of players in a draft in a long time and next year the pendulum will swing back.

Next years T class will be nice.

Evan Neal, Thayer Munford, Zion Nelson, Rasheed Walker, Dare Rosenthal.

Paton better ******* hope he doesn’t need a QB.

I noticed about a month ago and I go there every day. My bookmark goes to NBC.

I went on the second day of the draft and somehow didn't even notice, which is amazing with different color schemes and all. RW is one of my favorite sites, hope it doesn't go downhill.

Real talk: I so badly want Denver to get you the tackle you want and for that tackle to pan out. Because it would make you so happy. And a happy Jaded only makes the world a better place. Imagine Myles Garret and Khalil Mack just getting stonewalled by a Denver LT. You might cry. And not even because you're being a pouty ho.

You're not a pouty ho, fwiw.

Yeah I love Logan Brown for Wisconsin and Darnell Wright. I don’t like the other Wisconsin T or Cade Mays (as a T). Wanje Morris transferred, right?

Logan Brown isn’t eligible in ‘22.
