Oh and Surtain was absolutely the best defender in the draft! Horn has some great ability as well but Surtain is much more advanced .

2nd it doesn’t matter that Lock was a second round pick, he was drafted as a guy that needed development but possessed the natural god given ability to sling the rock, so yes he deserves the same amount of rope as Fields along with any other young talent. Drew didn’t fall flat on his face, nor did he looo like a total lost cause! His rookie year he sat due to injury and just learned the playbook before he got his shot and showed amazing potential! He then had to erase everything he learned to learn a new offense without an off season, and once again at the end of the year the last 5 games once he was comfortable he threw for 7tds and only 2ints which clearly showed improvement once he had learned the playbook! That should tell you that the kid just needed reps to get comfortable with the playbook. Drew lock showed tons of flashes of great potential and clearly Paton agrees along with the coaches that he’s worthy of having the starting job another year. You can’t just switch offenses on a guy year after year which is what Locks been dealt since college. The kid has had a different offense his entire college career and as a pro outside of this season.

Fields is NOT NFL starter guy right out of the gates and he’ll need a few years to get settled in. He deserves it like any other young guy as well. There’s absolutely no way Fields would come in and start and be effective right away! He’ll need the reps. So why even bother selecting fields when Drew is coming into year 2 in the offense; he’s admitted that he wasn’t able to focus on what defenses were doing pre snap because he had to focus on what he was doing on offense! He’s been working with Manning on pre snap reads which is what he needed to work on. Drew Lock is the real deal and his work ethic along with his elite arm talent will prevail and it’s going to be awesome
    My reading comprehension is fine.

I see that you really love Lock no matter what. Good on you.

Especially since Drew has actual talent this isn’t some 7th round dreamer....

Also your out of your mind if you honestly believe Paton ( won’t be here long) Paton is definitely going to be here for a long long time. The way he handles business from free agency to the draft is a breath of fresh air here. You LT just salty he passed on the 5th best QB for the number one defender in the draft.
Fifth best QB? No way. He was the second or third-best. And, Surtain wasn't the #1 defender in the draft. Jaycee Horn was taken ahead of him, and I wouldn't be surprised if another defender(maybe Zaven Collins) has a better career than Surtain.

And, I don't have to give Drew Lock anything. Why wasn't Kyle Sloter given one year? He showed more potential than Lock has.

That's why this team sucks. They want to give bums too long of a look, and get rid of anyone with real potential. That is a recipe for losing.

Slower showed more potential than Lock? Lock is a "bum" and Sloter has "real potential"?

How'd it go for all that talent in Minn and LV?

    Broncos
    Potential offers:

    QB Drew Lock, 2022 first-rounder, 2023 first-rounder, 2024 first-rounder, 2022 second-rounder, 2023 third-rounder
WR Courtland Sutton, 2022 first, 2023 first, 2024 first, 2022 second
OG Graham Glasgow, 2022 first, 2023 first, 2024 first, 2022 second, 2023 second
OLB Von Miller, 2022 first, 2023 first, 2024 first, 2022 second, 2023 fifth
In every scenario here, the baseline is three first-rounders. That just has to be a starting point, unless more than one impact starter or Day Two pick packages are included. Because, remember, if Green Bay actually deals Rodgers, it's going to need all the resources it can get to either build around 2020 first-rounder Jordan Love or hunt for an alternative. Lock makes sense as throw-in competition rather than a Love replacement. Sutton and Glasgow, meanwhile, would make for short- and long-term upgrades at wide receiver or offensive guard, respectively, whereas Miller would give the Packers a premium rental at pass rusher. The keys, again, are the picks: In every deal here, Green Bay gets at least four picks in the first two rounds.

The package with Von Miller in it is the best one for Denver. Von is a first ballot LB God. But Pass rushers don't age like QB's do.

No way in hell can you get rid of Von Miller, plus, GB is 3-deep at Edge ... they don’t need Von.

None of those scenarios include a rookie, which is a pipe dream.

At minimum they’ll at least ask for Surtain but you’d be lucky to get them to settle for Meinerz.

His play was declining the last time he played. He's coming off of an injury. He's 32. If GB took Von Miller it would be a blessing for you all.

And who replaces him? Malik Reed?

He wouldn’t be in Denver if “taking him off your hands” was an issue, they had an option to move on ... and didn’t.

Go watch the games, DC’s are still chipping/double/triple teaming Von Miller, his skills have not eroded.

good lord, three firsts, sutton or miller, AND additional picks? lmao, somebody was drunk at the keyboard. . . as good as he is, rodgers is 38, and clearly already looking at exit strategies. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

You drafted his replacement. His name is Chubb. You'd then be looking for a tertiary pass rusher. Which is significantly different than replacing a primary pass rusher.

He's a speed based rusher who is 32, and coming off of injury. Your valuation of him is wrong. This isn't 2017.

Chubb is no Von Miller, even at 32, Chubb is the happiest person To see Von back.

Also, there’s no such thing as tertiary pass rushers, you need three OLB’s in a 3-4 ... ya know? Like Green Bay.

Btw, Chubb is a bigger injury risk and is still not back from his injury ... last we saw.
