In my book we got the bronze medal. (Parsons, Horn, Surtain). I figured Sewell would be gone. We also gave up zero capital, got Teddy super cheap to hedge bets yesterday, and have 2 more picks in the top 100. Paton is legit.

Paton is the real deal, any other year the Broncos FO would have panicked and taken Scrubby Doo Fields. I like the Paton is allowing Lock to continue to learn and go into his third year while still building a team around him. Smart smart decisions.

Lock may not be a (ahem) lock just yet:

Broncos appear to be front-runners to land Aaron Rodgers in potential blockbuster Packers trade

Denver has prepared an offer for the superstar QB

At least Rodgers would be an upgrade. Fields is at best a lateral move.

    better be in the 4th!
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Unless GB wanted Surtain in the package...that's a report that came before GB publicly announced they would NOT be trading Rodgers.
