There were actually a lot of teams that took him off their board completely.

I'm a sucker for talent. It would be hard for me to not draft him.

almost up again. . . gimme daviyon nixon, hamsah nsairildeen, patrick johnson, or kenneth gainwell. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

not bad. . . i like hamsah better, but we needed another safety, and sterns has some upside. . . vic and donatell know how to pick and develop DBs, so give them the benefit of the doubt. . . should contribute on special teams right away, and he may have the speed to be a sub-package coverage guy. . .

honestly, i just love the fact that they still haven't taken some dude that i've never heard of-- in past drafts, denver almost always starts finding those guys by like the third round. . . i remember when they took gotsis in the second and i'm all like "who TF is that?" it's kind of reassuring that paton hasn't gone off the reservation with a pick yet. . . five more selections, and we could still use some depth at three-technique, edge, and tight end. . .

Sterns is a lot like Kareem in that he is a safety, but very good in coverage. I thought he was a top 5 or 6 safety, so...good value in my opinion.

Filthy explosive, 4.37 to 4.4 flat, better 3-cone and shuttle than Eric Stokes ... 42” vert.

5-Star recruit who looked like a future Top 10 pack as a freshman, but like most Longhorns, he faded as his head got bigger.

    Good buy low pick.

We are up again in 5 picks.

    QB?
    TE?
    T?
    DL?
    LB?
    WR?

I think T, DL or TE

I know we just went safety, but I love Jamar Johnson.

But Ogundeji, Q Roche would be nice here, too

Having watched Caden Sterns I can tell you he's similar to Kenny Vaccaro. Sterns is a big hitter who loves to go for the knockout however he overruns plays and gets burned in pass coverage. As he has progressed, he's learned to play under control better but he could still use some coaching up on technique and anticipation. However, he's a big play sort of safety who can make picks and deliver hits.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
