- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

This all day! If you can take the premier Tackle in the draft, he always trumps the best ILB, IMO. Not to mention, I think Sewell could be an all-pro at RT. At LT he projects to be a 15 year solid starter, but with his power and size, he should be a monster at RT. Or like Jaded said, groom him to take over for Bolles once the guaranteed $ in Bolles’ contract expires. Either way, having 2 badass tackles for the next several years sounds amazing.

Not really, His WR core was better then ours, he had McCaffery for a few games, then he also had Davis who was serviceable. The OL's played pretty much the same, we had bolles playing well, but the rest of our OL struggled all year. We had Gordon who wasn't serviceable until his last 8 games and a very underperforming Lindsay, and a pretty mediocre performing WR core overall with below avg production from the TE position. Lets not also forget that Lock threw More TD's Then Teddy In less games played with a substandard supporting cast.
I think Paton killed it on this deal, but Lock was the better QB on the field when they went head to head, it was clear as day. What this move does is protect against Lock's injury history and provides us a competent game manager at an excellent cost, in the event Lock doesn't improve or get it. If that does happen you cut bait with both at the end of the year and get a new QB and new staff to grow together. This was genius maneuvering and I'm very happy about it. I really do believe we are going to stay put at 9 at take a CB, ILB or T or trade back.
I really am impressed by Paton and his patience and transparency this off-season.
Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan
Draft
RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St
FA
1. With what money
As for pick 9 I think it has to be Sewell or Horn, and you find a way to get Jamin, or Jabril at LB
Sewell is certainly possible but I think he goes to Carolina unless Fields makes it past Atlanta. If that happens we should just take Horn, and go get our ILB as mentioned above.

Sandy just checked in with the most blistering hot take of the season. He says that Teddy will be the starter, that Denver should release lock, and that they should trade back for a linebacker even if fields is there at 9. Lol.

We do need linebacker but im curious who Sandy thinks should sit behind Bridgewater if we release Lock. I mean, even if you go into the season with Teddy starting you have to have some kind of younger QB to groom in the process.
Drew Lock is already better than Bridgewater, I don’t care what your stats say.

I’m not sure why anyone is excited about a quarterback competition. We won’t compete with Kansas City or San Diego, and probably not Las Vegas either, with what we have at quarterback.
