of the guys we're likely to take at nine, slater is the one i'd be the least excited about. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I agree, but I think we can get a good one (maybe not elite, but we don’t need elite man coverage in this scheme) at the top of the second, like maybe Asante Samuel Jr. I think he’s projected to go in the second, right?

From what I’ve heard about Slater, isn’t he supposed to be 1B to Sewell? I know their measurables were pretty similar at pro days. I know he opted out and this year but supposedly he was really good last year.

EDIT* I was thinking of Darrisaw size wise.

Agreed. But if we follow the $$/contracts -- we're not going to take an OT. It's QB, CB or trade back imo.

100%, I think Horn needs to be the pick at 9.....

I want Horn or Robinson at CB personally....I am not interested in Asante at all....I am intrigued by Newsome in rd 2 though and Molden in rd 3.

Newsome in round 2 would be amazing...but he'll never make it that far. Newsome is CB3 after the Farley surgery and I think 4 CB's go tonight.

Agree. Worst case for me would be going OT in the first round...period. Unless we fleece some team on a trade back and go with Darrisaw (my favorite OL in this draft). But either way, none of them are starting this year and I just have a hard time plugging in a player next year that wouldn't have played for 2 full seasons (Slater/Sewell). Since RT is what we are looking for, that player can be found in round 2 or 3. Little, Cosmi, Leatherwood, Leichenberg.......

Newsome went CB 3 good call, I thought he would go after Robinson and at best late 1st. Robinson should not be getting drafted after stokes though so right now kinda shocked at that.

Sarkisian openly told every scout he could find he installed more of his offense with Mac Jones than any other QB he’s ever coached. I’m not sure he’s the bust we think he is. I hate that he’s a Patriot. And he was there. I would have liked Rodgers or Fields. Surtain is fine, but...
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Let it be known, the AP officially advocated Mac Friggin Jones at 9.

I assume you are referring to Aaron Robinson. If so...I'm not so high on him. I like Stokes, Joseph, Melifonwu, Samuel, Molden ahead of him.

I was and disagree with you. Right now though a lot of mocks that are updated also have him gone by the time our pick rolls rd. 2 so it will be interesting to see if that actually happens.
