My small hands make piano playing a foolish endeavor. Maybe it's better that I stopped. Regardless, this thread is dope.

- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

When I was in high school, I picked up some how to play along jazz music books by Jamey Abersold and others. One of them was the ten greatest jazz solos and of the ten was the alto work of Cannonball in this cut. His brother Nat's work on the cornet is also phenomenal. I've loved this for ages.

I love The Shape of Jazz to Come. When it was released in 59 I believe, it was considered more ground breaking than Kind of Blue which was released in 59 also iirc.
Really like Donald Byrd. Never much of a Dizzy Gillespie fan but than Bee Bop
Check out A New Perspective by Donald Byrd. I really like the third cut Cristo Redentor. I use to play along.

Big Nat Adderley fan also.
Clifford Brown was awesome but died at 25, I believe. Way too soon.

Since you asked me about Ornette Coleman dog, I put this album on for the first time in a while. What a shame it had been a while. What an album. On most best of jazz albums lists that I have seen, this album is in the top five. The birth of free jazz. A pivotal album in the evolution of jazz.
