Default Another QB out of the equation, Darnold traded to Carolina

Personally, I’m glad we didn’t make a move for him. That makes it more likely that a QB falls to 9 or that someone is willing to trade back if we want one.

    I love this because:

a.) I want nothing to do with Darnold.
b.) Maybe the Panthers don't take a 1st round QB now.

But giving up a 2nd, 4th and 6th for him? Man. Carolina got fleeced.

That's some great value going back to the Jets. I wouldn't have hated taking a flyer on darnold, but definitely not at that price. Get Minshew for a late round pick and call it a day.

Can we get him for that with this trade setting the bar for cost?

Probably? Darnold still has the pedigree of being a recent top 5 pick, which probably helps his value. I haven't really heard anything about the Minshew market being super hot, but who knows.

Now all of the Teddy talk is starting up because of his previous connection to Shurmur...

I do not endorse Teddy, he's got a very low ceiling... Kind of like a more mobile Kyle Orton. Surely someone else can learn Shurmur's offense...

I don't see him as any worse of an option than Minshew in terms of just having a capable guy to backup/push Lock.

I view Minshew as a risk taker who is trying to win the game -- I view Teddy as a game manager trying not to lose it. Different styles of play, but maybe similar overall skillsets.

**** Bridgewater. Dude is captain check down. In 15 games last year he threw for 15 TDs and 11 INTs. How is that an improvement over Lock? I remember watching that Carolina game and thinking I never wanted to see Teddy in a Broncos uni. Dude doesn’t just play conservative, he plays scared. I remember every time he faced 3rd down he checked down short of the sticks. Every time. It was pathetic. I don’t see any upside to Bridgewater.

    Low ceiling?

Somewhere Garbage Minshew says “hold my beer”.

He probably doesn’t even drink beer, I bet he drinks wine ... with his pinky up.

I can’t believe the Panthers didn’t just trade for Garbage Minshew, so weird.

Dude for a 6th round pick we shoulda definitely pulled the trigger on darnold for locks back up! I can’t believe we didn’t actually make this move!

But now I know for certain Paton is all in on Drew for this season.

Teddy would only be here to be a whole coach for Lock in the offense. I wish you guys would stop acting like whoever we bring in is going to be competing for the starting job.

Dude what is wrong with you people? You all keep acting like these guys are coming in to be starters! They are coming here to back up drew Lock and only play in case he gets hurt for a couple games!
