    Default Kellen Mond

I have to say I like what I saw from this kid. Coach, or texas residents whats the word on this guy?

He reminded me of Manziel and Baker mayfield. I know nothing of the team he had. He only threw for like 20 something Tds and ran for like 5 or 6 more. So only like mid 20s total tds where as guys like fields are in the 40s.

That said, this kid, had hop feet like manning used too. He has good run ability, not amazing but sneaky. He had good anticipation throws and the arm looked plenty fine.

if we do not go top 10 with a QB- this would be the one I would target. I have seen some say he is 1st round and others say he is 3rd round. No clue but I like him.

Whats the word on this kid
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

It's tough to gauge Mond by his numbers because of the offense that A&M runs under Jimbo Fisher. It is truly a pro style balanced attack, so the QB isn't going to have gaudy numbers. When you have the "Maroon Goons" as your OL and Isaiah Spiller in the backfield...you can go that way.

That said...Mond was solid if nothing else over his A&M career. Played well enough to get an invite to the Senior Bowl and won the MVP of the game. He can run when necessary, but has a ton of patience in the pocket, strong arm, quick release, throws great on the move, SEC experience. But, I feel like he was never pressed to develop more than he has. There are definitely still some things that need a lot of work. Pocket awareness, keying on primary receiver, accuracy on mid range passes, etc.

If he was there in the 3rd, I would take a chance on him as a developmental QB and hope that Shurmur can coach him up...but I wouldn't take him any earlier than that.

I agree with this. I have leaned towards mac simply because the people that are way more advacnced and professional in scouting than I say Mac first. That said, my limited eye test shows Mond more than Mac.

The thing I do not like about Mac is his guy was always open (by nfl standards) on nearly ever single pass. The ones they were not were passes within or behind the line of scrimmage. That to me is Kyle Freaking Orton. I NEVER EVER EVER EVERY WANT TO SEE ANOTHER ORTON HERE AGAIN!!!!

Orton might be my most hated bronco ever, even ahead of Eddie Kennison and others. Nate Jones is up there. Rahim has a spot. Buuuuuuuut Mac reminds me a lot of Orton. I did not want to say it because I have not watched enough of him, but every time I do I see Orton. I have been drinking a lot tonight. A lot! But I see Mac Orton. That is something I do not want. And the similarities are sooooooooooooooo Damn Freaking Close!

FU Orton as a bronco QB. Mac- no. No. NO!

Mond over Orton, I thank you!

I am not advocating for Mac, but he is pretty damn accurate. Open receivers aside, his ball placement is impeccable. He spots the ball where he wants to. He leads receivers well. He throws away from defenders. There are limitations to his overall game, but I wouldn't crap on his accuracy just because he has talented wideouts.

I'm not a Mond guy, but he has improved his completion % every year and has improved his TD/INT ratio. Worth a mid round flier.

I'm an Aggie and I'd take Jones over Mond.

I just don't see Mond being a starter. He can be a solid backup and give you some spot starts, but you can find that type of player in free agency every year. Why use draft capital on it? The Brady's and Prescott's don't happen often enough to make it worth it.

I know I'm a homer and it's easy to say this in hindsight, but it's kinda crazy to me that Dak dropped that far at all. I think some of his spring break shenanigans probably didn't help his stock, but leading lowly MSU to #1 in the country is such a hurculean feat. I think maybe teams were also gunshy thinking he was another Tebow from Mullen's system. But I'll always be pissed that Dallas wasn't able to trade over us to get Lynch, because all indications were that Dak was Elway's #2 guy in that draft if we missed on PL.

The pure fact that Elway...or anyone...thought Lynch was a first round talent was the first problem. Even at the time, Prescott in round 2 was a much better idea than Lynch in round 1...let alone round 4.

If you are in a talent battle with jerry Jones...odds are you're safer just walking away

I never liked lynch. Didn't think much of dak tho too. Thought he 2as way too inaccurate and couldn't throw a guy open. I wasn't much of a Darnold fan, thought Chad Kelly was better. I also liked Connor Cooks for a mid tier guy. I didnt like trubiskey or Leinhart. I did like cutler and lock. And I've liked most of the recent qbs. Whiffed on Rosen hard-core.

Having said all of that the hits and misses are on par with most of the league hahahahahahahahaba (thats effing pathetic)
