Until then my friend, you are nope.
I respect your 'totality of contribution' position, in fact, it is my own position.

I think you are not being clear-headed about how detrimental a turnover is to winning games--how the totality becomes negative no matter how adroit the runner is, no matter how much of a nose-for-the-endzone back, no matter how many touches per season.

It's like kicking field goals that subtract points from your total--dumb as a box of rocks. But we accept it...because...? I don't even know.

There are backs who have the trait of elite ball security. They had it in college, it transfers to the pros. It is an attribute like a 40 time.

    Kareem Hunt.
    Benjarvis GE.
    Christian Mac.
    Phil Lindsay.

I'll bet there are UDFAs out there who have elite ball security, who lack elite vision or w/e, who can take what their O-line gives them, who do not score own-goals.

Who let you spend more money on DBs and QBs and so on.

Fair enough. How does one go about it?

Things we need to consider -If we are looking at things like the fumbles every 50 touches:

    - What did the player do on the plays (not just touches) in the same ratio 1/50, etc in terms of pass pro, first down, positive run, catch, etc.
    - broken tackles/missed tackles
    - lead into scoring range
    - scores
    - scores as a direct result of player (ex a run tackled on .5 yard line- qb sneak in for td)
    - where int/fumble occurs
    - points scored directly off int/fumble
    - total points scored from player
    - total points scored because of player contributions
    - total points scored directly because player turned over (and or messed up- like gordon missing a key block on 3rd down with a wide open wr for a 1st- and then team gets punt return or scores a td, etc)

How we do all that I have no clue. But that is why we have you. You excel in those areas.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Gordon was an excellent player this season. He needs to stop fumbling, it is a major problem.

If you ask me to build a team and you tell me my options at RB1 are Phillip Lindsey or Melvin Gordon, I choose Lindsey. Every time.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Yeah, it would be a project! I'd love to do it with infinite time...or with a reasonable budget...

*ahem* Broncos quant guys, go ahead and PM me, I won't bite.

Javonte Williams is the best back in this draft period. I'd love to see us steal him in the draft....most have him 3rd round.
    A certain bammer may disagree.
