    Default Off Season Moves

Since the 2020 Football season is officially over we in the time of year where moves are being made. I wanted a thread where we could see everything in one place. If someone is good at cap space and where it's all that I would really appreciate it.

So I just saw this and thought this is as good as anything to get it going.

After releasing A.J. Bouye, the Broncos now have big decisions to make on the futures of Von Miller and Jurrell Casey.

Releasing Von would open up $18M of cap space.

Releasing Casey would open up $11.9M of cap space.

Default Broncos 2021 off season news, trades, articles, etc

Broncos receiver Jerry Jeudy’s goal for 2021: Better maximize opportunities

Jeudy was targeted 113 times as a rookie, but turned those into only 52 catches

As soon as he lined up wide right late in the Broncos’ Week 17 game against Las Vegas, receiver Jerry Jeudy could hear the Raiders’ defenders.

“They were actually calling my play out — ’Watch the dig route! Watch the dig route!’” he said with a laugh.

Moments later, the Raiders were watching Jeudy score a 92-yard touchdown.

“I just ran my route and Drew (Lock) threw a great pass for me to catch and run with,” he said. “At first, I was looking at the ball to make sure I caught it because I had five drops the game before (against the Chargers). I looked it in, saw the green field and just hit it.”

Cutting Casey is a must. Need to lock up Shelby Harris long term though.

    definitely. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Not sure if cutting Casey is necessarily a must the same way as Bouye. It's possible his agent weighs the market and tries to work out a salary cut. Casey showed last year before his injury that he still has it.

Is he? Your best DL should be better at sacking QB’s than he is at passes defended.

His primary value is as a 300 pound run stuffer - which he does well. His production against the pass has been a bonus. I'm not saying break the bank - but I'm saying he's outperformed expectations for a few years in a row now.

Hmmm, so is Denver left with no choice but to release Von or can they still trade him at all? I would hate to cut him outright and get nothing in return.

Why would Denver cut or trade Von? Only reason would be a QB contract. With plenty of cap room, no reason to bail on him.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Yeah unless that investigation turns up something bad I see no reason we'd need to dump him.

He’s untradeable if it does. Only option would be to cut, and someone would sign him and let him serve whatever suspension he would get. I don’t really see a reason to get rid of him.

Maybe that is why Stevens is mentioning it if that is the case.
