At no time did Bolles show any behavior that was detrimental to the locker room or the team.

Klis seems to suggest that the Broncos wont re-sign Shelby Harris here... Or they'd have to get him at a discount like they did last year.

    Thought this was mildly interesting:

Free agent to watch: The Bears’ Roy Robertson-Harris. He was one of Fangio’s pet projects in 2017-18 and figures to be affordable after missing the second half of last season with a shoulder injury.

I think it would be a mistake to not re-sign Shelby Harris. They could get him for under $5M per.

just heard a segment with klis and sandy, and they said that denver is currently 5th in the league in terms of available cap space, even with von at his current number. . . that is encouraging. . . simmons will take up a chunk of that, assuming they get something done, but there are also more moves they can still make to free up additional space. . . after what watt just got paid, i don't have a ton of confidence that they can get miller to restructure, but kareem jackson might-- he ain't getting ten mil anywhere else in this market. . . with a little patience, denver should be able to do some significant work on their worst depth issues before the draft. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I would anticipate Simmons getting somewhere in the ballpark of five years and $70-75M.

I see no reason to not pick up both von and Kjax options.....We have plenty of space and they both clear the books next year if we have to start over with a new staff.

His current estimate is 14.8 per year at 74-78 mil. If I'm being Honest I don't pay that. I franchise him this year again and it is what it is.....

If they could get him for less than $5 mil/yr then I agree - but he's seeking quite a bit more than that in the market - like double.

I think Simmons is a higher priority.

This article change my POV on signing Simmons long term. I had previously been under the impression that the safety position was less valuable than a lot of others, but I think this article makes the case that it's one of the more valuable positions -- and the cost is relatively cheap compared to other high value positions... Therefore, signing someone like Simmons who does everything right on and off the field, is actually a pretty good investment from a franchise cornerstone perspective.

Denver really need to fix the defense line. they need someone to play 4/4i technique that can stop the run and that not Harris.

Simmons had another good year for the Broncos while playing under the tag, but said he “hasn’t spoken to anyone in depth” about what the plan is for this offseason since Paton took over the role. What little he has heard has left him with the impression that the Broncos want to hold onto him.

“From everything that I’ve heard and that I’ve been a part of for five years now, it seems like Denver wants me back and I want to be there,” Simmons said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “At the end of the day, it is a business. It’s just a matter of it working out on both sides.”

Simmons is right. He's not going anywhere. If extension is not worked out by Tuesday he will get second franchise tag of $13.73 million. Budda Baker is NFL's highest-paid safety w/$14.75M AAV followed by Eddie Jackson ($14.6M) Kevin Byard ($14.1M) Collins/Mathieu ($14M). #9sports

Default Broncos will tender running back Phillip Lindsay, GM George Paton says

The door for Phillip Lindsay’s return to the Broncos remains open, with the team deciding to place a tender on the fourth-year running back.

What’s to be determined is whether that tender is at Lindsay’s original (undrafted) round, which would pay him $2.13 million, or a second-round tender, which would pay Lindsay $3.38 million. An original tender wouldn’t guarantee Lindsay’s return as there’s no compensation at that level, while a second-round tender requires the new team to relinquish that draft selection if the old team doesn’t match the player’s offer.

“We’re still working through (the details) with Phillip,” GM George Paton said Thursday. “He’s a good player who’s very passionate, and obviously he had some injuries last year. But he brings energy and he brings juice.”
