I don't think it' a secret that Houston has had one of the worst o-lines in the NFL since they cam into the league. And apparently, it's infectious as Laremy Tunsil has regressed into a scrub as well the past 2 years. He's basically been what Bolles was his first few years.

So, if you're Watson and you don't want to risk a career ending injury playing for a team that won't be competitive, you sit out and risk losing this season's salary versus playing and enduring a potential career ending injury during a meaningless season that could net a much larger financial loss.
Problem is that if he sits out, Houston gets that year back on the back end of the deal.

Nobody knows if they will be competitive, teams go from worst to first every year.

I better wear the white pants on draft day, just in case.

I've been saying this for weeks. Every year there are one or two quarterbacks that get over evaluated while other guys have their flaws minimized.it happened with Watson

It’s happening with Fields right now. Wilson will be the #2 QB off the board and be another Trubisky or Rosen (probably on the Jets) while Fields will go lower to a better team and be more successful and in 3 years everyone will wonder why teams passed on him for Wilson or other players.

There are 3 QBs I want us to take and bench/trade lock for.

    Watson- probably trade drew.
Dak- Keep drew and hope he turns into something.
Fields- I really like Fields. Let drew and he compete.

I still have a lot of high hopes for Drew. Those top 2 QBs are just sooo much better than he is right now that if we can land one, we need to. We must!

If not, and Fields falls to us, I think we need to really look at drafting him. Now, if there is a trade down option that is really really good and maybe we can still pick a Parson, Farley, Surtain......I am ok with that too.

I personally think we are in a great great position this year, FA wise, Draft wise, Development of Lock wise, to really add to this team one way or the other and whichever part is not fulfilled this year- can be completed the next. I cannot remember a time we were like that except when we were SB champ years with Peyton. I do not think we are that good yet. However, a QB, some health and a few more players on D. Will really change that in a hurry. I still think this team is a lot closer than people think. I really do.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

CBS Sports claims the Panthers have quietly added $25 million in cap space to make a run at Watson:

Maybe they just want to have room to do other things but sure looks like they are ready to go all in on landing the former Clemson star.

Our main competition for Watson is Carolina. Lets hope Houston is dumb enough through draft day to ignore trade calls for Watson. The price will keep dropping guaranteed. I'm with Wave the superstars win these battles. Our main goal should be to get the best roster possible for Watson when he comes here lol.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St
