Agreed but we definitely need to inject some elite ability into the CB position, ojamudia is going to be a good system CB I hope, Callahan is always injured even before becoming a Bronco. And he’s really a nickle the 50% of games he actually play’s.

There’s just some key things we can do to add to this young team instead of wasting tons of capital on a QB.

I probably should have watched Fields play though, we’re slated to pick 10, and the mock had us taking Fields and I was actually kind of feeling good about it. Fields does look like the real deal but thankfully he’ll be gone before 10 because I think Lock is the real deal.

Everyone in town seems to think he’s gonna break the bank (like we all thought this time last year), I can’t see teams paying max money on a DL that is better at defending passes than he is at sacking the QB.
Harris won’t be cashing in on anything significant, literally nobody wanted him for what he thought he’d get out there on the market last year.

But Micah parsons would transform the defense, Surtain as well. Two guys I would love to see a Bronco.

Obviously if we let Casey walk we can re-sign Harris. I dunno what the FO is gonna do though. The defense was solid (not great, but good) without Von, Casey, Purcell (although the run defense got worse without big Mike), and the other DL in and out of the lineup all year. Do we want to spend big to keep Von and Casey? I mean I love Von and hope he retire a Bronco, but we all know loyalty is rare late in a career. DT, Sanders, CHJ, etc are all evidence of that. Refresh my memory, did we sign Purcell to an extension? I thought we did like right before he went on IR.
Yeah they signed Purcell a week before he went out for the season.

I keep Von, Harris and dump Casey.

The pass rush is shit w/o Von and Chubb together.

No that's expected when you have no CB's for most of the year and lose 2 pro bowlers from the front 7 including your best pass rusher and a beats against the run as well as the guy who stakes his game on run defense in Purcell. The fact we still were respectable on defense overall is a testament to the coaching and depth we did have. We need upgrades and we have positions to address, but were pretty strong on defense when were healthy

3rd pass rusher besides Von and Chubb is a need next year. I am really intrigued by Zaven Collins from Tulsa and his scheme diversity and skillset, he is playmaker who can provide 3-4 pass rush but also play inside and be a upgrade over Jewell. I do think Harris comes back for a pretty decent amount, and there is solid reasoning to move on from Jurrell, but I'm not so sure we will. We have good cap, and will get more when Bouye is cut. I think Purcell, Shelby and Jurell is still the plan with Dre and maybe Agim for depth. When healthy we have a very good front seven and we showed this year we can still be solid if injuries happen.

Collins is a projection at Edge, he’s always been an off-the-ball LB, but he’s probably a better fit outside in today’s NFL.

I would agree but his skill set would allow him to be versatile and used where they see best play to play. With his skillset its tantalizing to think of a AJ/Collins or parson/Chubb/Miller LB core....so much potential there.

Jamie Collins from the Cheats comes to mind.

Good thing Case Rypien “won” that Jets game, it’d suck to have the 5th pick.

If I were GM Kendall Hinton would be backup QB.

We truly need agim and Dre to take giant steps forward next season.
