Default Has your Broncos engagement flagged? (poll)

I just saw the most recent gameday thread and my reaction was a big 'ole 'whatever'. I'm wondering if some of y'all feel the same. I've tuned in for most every game pretty consistent since I returned stateside in '04 except lately not so much. There's just not much to see if you ask me.

I know, this is an invitation for being called fair-weather. Maybe.

I don't mind if my team isn't dominant. But I do get lost when there's this kind of purgatory no-direction thing, and that's how it feels to me lately.

Sorry, had to vent a little and just put it out there. Feel free to click a radio button in the poll to let loose with your emotions.

I’ve actually quit early on a few games this season which is unheard of for me. I normally watch every game in their entirety no matter how bad Denver plays. I would sit through crappy streams and buffering/refreshing for 3 1/2 to 4 hours every Sunday even when I was still in Mexico, and before that had Direct. Sunday Ticket for as long as I can remember.

Purgatory is a great choice of words to sum this team up. Injuries have killed the season but it feels like it’s deeper than that.

To make matters worse, my little girl peed the bed so I’m posting here at 2:48am eastern time because I can’t fall back asleep after changing her pjs and sheets and shit. Fml.

I think this year is a covid throwaway, so I'm not on the ledge or anything.

New QB, OC, line, WRs and no offseason really...this had to happen. So it's not a crisis. But we are here all the same.

I literally tell my boss at the beginning of each season I don’t work days Broncos play.

You tell me where I land.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I still wake up early every sunday to watch every game, but I don't get as emotionally invested as much as I did before.

You can 100% tell from game day threads that apathy has fully set in. Those threads don't even go half the length they used to, and the people left that still post in them don't get nearly as heated.

I still make it a point to watch as much as I can of every game, but if I miss a quarter here or a half there it just doesn't feel like as big a deal as it used to be.

I'm sure my wife enjoys that I don't yell at the TV each Sunday anymore, but it would feel nice to care again!

I work most Sundays now a days but im also not missing much when it comes to Broncos football. I still enjoy watching other games but the Broncos just arent that exciting at this point. Maybe a couple more years down the road the team will get back to playing top caliber football but its hard to sit through the games these days.

Follow up question...is the apathy for Denver or the league as a whole?

Personally, I don't make it a point NOT to watch the NFL but I haven't prioritized 1 single NFL over a Sunday activity with friends or family in years. Part of that is my daughter's Sunday heavy soccer schedule. Part is political. Part is that the era that I grew up with is long gone and the games seem less credible to me.

I'm sure that's part of it, but if the Broncos go 13-3 next year and are contending for the Super Bowl, I think a lot of Broncos fans who are apathetic over stuff like politics/officiating/league credibility or whatever will suddenly forget about all that. Not all, I'm sure, but I think for the most part rooting for a winner puts all that other riff raff further out of mind.

4 hours 16 times a year isn't all that big of a commitment. I'm still all in.

    Hopefully soon, it'll be 18-19 times/year!

Another part of it for me is the location. The overall apathy with the league in conjunction with Sunday soccer has led to the all powerful Sunday Ticket no longer being a priority in my household. Living in PA, I don't get many Denver games. Out of sight...

I always try to watch the game, but like pretty much my entire adult life, I don’t work a normal 9-5 schedule so Sundays/Monday night/Thursday night are occasionally work days and I can’t catch the game. The real difference between this year and years past is that my expectations are very low so I don’t get too bent outta shape after a loss and take it with me afterward. I used to get a little pissy and it would take me 24 hrs or so to get over a loss. Now it’s just a meh thing. I think I’ve only actually screamed at the game twice this year (both times were over referee shitty calls not the Broncos’ play). That’s definitely a first. I still try to watch if I’m able but I don’t get upset about missing a game or the final score.

The team gets a pass this year with COVID and the ridiculous amount of injuries we’ve sustained. Sure, I get a little disappointed when the team obviously plays below a reasonable standard slams looks inept when I know they aren’t. Frankly, I’m just happy I still have football to distract me from all the other BS in the world for a couple hours once a week.

First year I haven't got the Broncos games since 1993. Really not missing much.

I never miss a game. Esp during covid when there is literally nothing else to do or going on.
I enjoy the feeling of having my finger nails pulled out each week.

Still, I show up. I havent made my lucky dip in a long time. I suppose I coukd make it for tonight.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
