Thread: Broncos Gameday Thread: Broncos vs Saints 11/29/20

No memes this week, only clowns. Because that is what the NFL has become, a huge clown show. They bend over backwards to reschedule every other teams' games but wont delay the Broncos game a single day so they can have more than 24 hours to prepare to play without a quarterback. Absolutely a joke.

I am going to depend on defense and Kicker McManus.

As bizarre as this whole thing is, what an awesome story and opportunity for Hinton. He probably never thought in a million years he'd be starting a game at QB in the NFL. Incredible opportunity for him to go out and show what he can do.

Sure, but he's playing with house money. Even if he's terrible, he was never supposed to play anyway and will always have a cool story about getting to play QB in the NFL.

I feel like this will be such a conservative game plan he won't really have much of a chance to look awful.

But in a fun way... tragic in a “haha” way, not so much a “oh noes!” Way. It’s not like we’re playoff bound anyway. Think of it like the replacements. Hinton can be our Falco or our Steamin’ Willie Beamen. I mean seriously, can he take a snap and hand off? Can he throw a forward pass (not necessarily at an NFL level). Isn’t that all you need? 75% run, 25% pass (short 3-5 yard dump offs and screens). I mean, what’s the worst that happens, we get shutout? That’s happened before with a healthy starting QB. No big deal. I’m just pretty stoked to see what we do. If it’s terrible, I’ll laugh it off like the joke it is. The only reason we won’t forfeit is so the players still get game checks. I think it’s going to be a hoot one way or the other.

This game is nothing but upside for us. If we lose, well of course because that's expected with no QB, and we at least get better draft position. Win, and it's the most spectacular upset in years.

Can't one of you local guys toss a football pretty well? I mean this has been a long-term fantasy, Elway goes down, they tape over one of the nines on an old lineman's jersey number 99 and I'm back there as number 9. I'm throwing bombs to Eddy Mac and Rod Smith, I even call a tackle eligible play and some big fat guy runs in for a TD, wouldn't that be grand? Go Broncos.

I am fuming about this as a fan, so I can only imagine what the team is feeling. I hope they take this out on the Saints and don't let them gain any yards. I expect the whole team to come out with anger and aggression today. For this to happen so suddenly and not have any time to prepare, the only chance the Broncos have will be to win the turnover battle. Shortened preseason and no notice means it is unlikely the Broncos installed any kind of "Wild Horse" package with Melvin Gordon, Lindsay, or Freeman taking direct snaps.

If Shurmur had literally one practice to prepare, the Broncos could have gone into this game with a Wishbone package. This is complete and utter garbage, and it cannot be stated enough.

If I'm Shurmur, I'm using every second I can of pregame warmup time to install and run through new plays for today's game.

I kinda like the Denver side of this bet? I could easily see a 17-3 type game which would be a cover.
