Default NFL’s new ownership policy could create major problems for Titans, Broncos

Just saw and read this article. I haven't really followed the Broncos ownership situation, but was interested the thoughts and views of you guys and gals on this new ownership policy and its potential effects on the Broncos.

    Good.

its the leagues way to ensure this doesnt happen again and is forcing the hands of the two teams. Get an owner or sell. And the clock is ticking!
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

It's been way too long. They needed a hard deadline. I'm glad. Let's move forward.

I think that Cugel said something a year ago about how an Elway resignation would be bad for Ellis. Denver won today, so maybe it won't happen, but if the Broncos lose the rest of their games, and Elway decides he's had enough, Ellis could be out of luck.

Without addressing the need for the ownership issue to be resolved, or commenting on who, etc. I would think the trust has a colorable argument that they are following a succession plan that has been repeatedly approved by the league. They could then continue to drag it out in litigation while whatever succession circus plays out. A detrimental reliance kind of argument with a dash of past practice. Contract law is full of ways to delay.

So, how do the Packers get away with it? They have a president who makes the decisions, we have Joe Ellis who is doing that. I think that fans who really want us to sell and or name an official owner only really have one thing in mind, firing Elway. Everyone seems to think that a new owner will sweep in and can Ellis and Elway and bring in what the arm chair draft nicks who don’t give a shit about anything other than their maddenesque view of FA and the draft a “better GM” that will magically turn the Broncos into a dynasty team because that shit apparently happens all the time...

Maybe we’ll get lucky and get an awesome owner like Dan Snyder or Jerruh who want to run the show and can’t be fired no matter how shitty the club is...

Frankly, Pat Bowlen was a great owner because he stayed the hell outta the way for the most part and just opened the wallet when he needed to. The likelihood our next owner is like that is slim. Most likely we’ll get another overnight billionaire who likes to play fantasy football and sees the team as an investment and money maker with zero love or concern for the history and traditions of Denver or the Broncos. I’ve gotta believe that the majority of fans expecting a new owner = no more Elway as GM which will usher in some “golden age” of Broncos football have another think coming.
