We just need more Tebow threads about how great he was to balance it all out.
uhh, yea. . . other than drafting another blue chip QB, all of those "options" blow. . . we really need HCL to show up this weekend, and put this bullshit to rest. . .
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
Jaded is the John Elway of posting on broncosforums.com imo.
You do realize that this is a fan forum, and you can't just keep spouting common sense like that and get away with it!
Now try saying 10 times in a row, in a high pitched hysterical voice "it's time to bench Lock in favor of Brett Rypien!" Then trying running in circle for a few minutes until you feel dizzy.
Yeah! And comparisons between Lock's completion percentage and Tebow's would be an added bonus we just can't do without!

Cug you're insane too. Not a person here is railing to play Rypien.

I still haven't seen a single person able to produce an example of someone calling for Lock to be replaced by Rypien. This is the dumbest invented narrative of all time.
Not yet maybe. But, give it a few losses where Lock doesn't look good. . . .
And the radio chatter over at 104.3 The Fan and Altitude Sports Radio will start: "well, they might as well see what they have in Brett Rypien since Drew Lock clearly isn't ready, if he ever will be. . . ."
Or "if they're not going to commit long term to Drew Lock, and clearly they aren't at this point, then isn't it inevitable that at some point after the season they are moving on from Drew Lock and trying to move up in the draft to get a QB? If so, then they probably deal Lock, right? SO they might as well give Rypien the start and see what he's got. Maybe he's your backup for next season, maybe not, but it would save a lot of time, since they're going to have to go out and find another QB for them to see whether maybe Rypien can be their backup, or whether they need to get a veteran backup to whoever they get in the draft."
Don't blame me for this brilliant analysis! It's not mine. I'm saying that its coming to Broncos fans and media near you. Sooner than you might think!
And, yes. It is a stupid idea, so there's no need to point that out to me. There will be a lot of stupid ideas this year. James Bond just died. It's just that kind of year.

I'm not saying he should be benched for Rypien or they have a better chance to win with Rypien. It's from a performance aspect. If Lock is not playing well and hampering the offense, it sets a bad precedent. I'm not saying even for the Season bench him, but pull him in the 3rd or 4th last week, let him know he needs to play better. Because if Fangio loses the team and the defense it's not good after last week

I remember there was a time when this fan base was really down on a guy. They called for his head repeatedly and was ready to replace him at every opportunity and with every mistake while he developed. I was one of them. Now he’s one of the top 5 LTs in the NFL. It took him 3 years to develop.
Perhaps we can give our QB some time too. He obviously has the physical talent and has a good attitude. Sometimes it just takes a season to adapt to the speed of the game and a new system (on his second in as many years) while getting all the mental side down. I have faith in Drew Lock. He might never be a top 5 guy, but he can be a franchise player if given the time and guidance to develop. The last thing we need to do is give up on him after one jacked-up season only to move on to another placeholder while wasting draft picks on another second tier QB because we aren’t in position to draft a top 5 QB.

I don't really see any scenario of the Broncos giving up on him after this season unless he drops to Tebow/Lynch levels of play consistently for the rest of the year. If he's THAT bad the rest of the year and shows no signs of getting better, they might have to explore options. But if he has the occasional bright spot like against the Pats he'll 100% be the guy next year.
