I will, say, though, I'm typically of the mind that if a QB is really the guy, he should be able to handle someone being brought in to compete. If that's enough to cause him to collapse, then it's better to find out early that he can't handle adversity. If he keeps playing like this the rest of the year, I don't see why he should be handed the job next year. I'm sure Jaded will twist this as me wanting him replaced, but I just want the best QB possible playing here. If that's Lock, awesome. I hope it is. But I don't think he's at the point where he's earned not having any competition for the job. But to be clear, I don't think under any circumstances he should be benched this year. No one behind him is even possibly the answer, and this year needs to be used at this point to assess if he's the guy or if a competition is needed.
All i know is everyone was telling me a couple of years ago that i was wrong for disagreeing with the movie the Cardinals made to oust Rosen and draft Murray. Turned out i was the one that was wrong and the Cardinals were right. If Lock plummets the rest of the year i do think Denver will have to seriously consider drafting a replacement and/or sign or trade for a guy like Stafford, etc. I saw MO post some stats about the way Lock has played so far this year and its not all that impressive with this last game being one of his worst outings. Good news for Lock is he will have the rest of the year to try and show he can be the guy going forward but im not really seeing that right now with his play. If that angers or triggers the snowflakes of this board than so be it.
Was Matt Ryan on that list? A buddy brought up his name yesterday during a classic Broncos fan meltdown.
