I live here. I'm eating lunch with their fans every day. I'm listening to the local sports radio. I'm spending free time in the city. Many fans have wanted him gone for awhile. The only race comment I ever hear is that it's hard for the Rooney's to fire a black coach. People don't feel he has control of the locker room. Although they hate Baltimore, they think he was corny for trying to trip the return man. They've had a bunch of talent. The fans here don't think he has maximized it.

A large portions of the fans do think that.

They’re usually not smart, in general. Many of them have tarnished views out of entitlement and forget they were the same fans who hated Cowher. Others are just bad people.

The thing is when you have a great coach who is around forever you see them differently than other fans because you’re painfully aware of their warts.

Denver’s new coach is admired by all but a lot of NO fans wanted him out. Fans be like that.

However, Tomlin still has the locker room and is still one of the most productive coaches in the game. So is Payton.

Coupled with reports in New Orleans that the team and Payton agreed to terms late last week and Paton/Loomis then set about terms for trade…. I would trust Schefter, he’s more reliable anyhow

Payton would be every teams first choice if it wasn’t for the trade compensation, I’m sure the Broncos are no different. Nobody wanted to give NO what they wanted.
