    Default Sam Darnold

On Saturday night i was talking to some friends that are all NYJ fans, most seem to think Darnold can be traded for a No1 pick if they're in position to get Trevor Lawrence.

I told them I think they're nuts and there's no way they'd get a No1 pick alone for him as he is now, and then there was an aricles yesterday from ESPN and SI (SI isn't what it used to be) saying only a really QB needy team would give a 1 for Darnold.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30088238/nfl-executives-doubt-new-york-jets-get-1st-round-pick-sam-darnold-trade

NOT SUGGESTING DEN SHOULD BE LOOKING AT THIS (though now I'm curious would yous want them to do that?) as Den has a similar player in Lock now, but is he worth a Top pick for a trade?

I don't think so, maybe a package like AZ got for Rosen.

No chance he fetches a first round pick at this point.

I said it before and ill say it again, i liked Chad Kelly as a qb prospect better than darnold.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Lol, if Darnold is worth a first than why the hell is NY giving up on him? Any team that bites on that is ******* moronic.

Rosen fetched a second. Darnold might be worth a first in a vacuum, but the Jets would have no leverage in that situation.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Rosen also had the value of still being fairly unknown and having "potential". This is year 3 of darnold starting. The longer he starts and plays like shit, the lower his value gets. Maybe some team feels like he's just had no chance with the Jets and they can salvage him, but I still don't see him fetching much in a trade. A second is possible I guess, but I think that's the upper limit of what the Jets could hope to get.

Not to mention as well rosen still had 3 years plus an option on a rookie deal. Darnold will only have one year plus the option left.

Darnold is a broke dik dog, For maybe a 4th I’d give him another chance but Denver’s OL is even worse than Jets.

    When did Rosen have potential?

conditional third, at the very best. . .

your friends are hopelessly delusional. . . if you want to get ahead of the game now, let 'em know that lawrence may not be all that and a bag of chips, either. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Rosen is a great judge of character, that’s been proven time and time again, to go along with every single skill the NFL requires.

The Jets will ruin Lawrence too.

...it was only like 3 years ago according to NYJ fans, they were gonna kill the Pats and be in all these SBs because Darnold will be a HoFer. Their hype was off the walls here.

When he was a year removed from being drafted teams could at least talk themselves into having 4 years on a rookie deal for him to develop/turn into something. Not saying they would have been right, but I'm sure the Cardinals weren't the only team that had him rated as a top 10 talent in that draft.
