Default Ravens have inquired about Tim Patrick

Thoughts? I like Patrick and he played huge for us last year with all the injuries. Not sure we should trade him away with Hamler being injury prone and Sutton not yet shown to be 100%.

Of course they are; their WRs suck and the cat they drafted is hurt.

If it is a premium pick I would be fine with the trade … then I’d turn around and sign Patrick back in ‘22 free agency.

Ya, causing paying something like 8mil + a year for what would be our #4 WR is a brilliant executive move.

    Cheaper than Sutton.

I really like Patrick, but, especially with guys like Benson flashing, never mind what Cleveland showed last year, WR is as deep as I ever remember the position being. Just seems like a numbers game.

I’d keep Patrick. Insurance incase Sutton isnt 100%. If Sutton sucks then I’d say resign Patrick come 2022 off-season
They don’t make real men anymore

We are in great shape, Bmore is desperate to field a competent WR for Jackson that isn't a RB or TE. We have all the leverage here I would want a 2nd or a 3rd at min, otherwise keep him and trade before the deadline for a 4th or even 5th since he is FA in 22 by then we will know if Sutton is back to full speed.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

    FA

I agree. No reason to be in a hurry. I doubt any team would give a 2nd or 3rd, but that’s ok, we’ll keep him as insurance. If Sutton’s proves to be 100% by mid season, then insist on a min 4th at deadline to a desperate team, or no deal.

I don't really understand the mindset that we're definitely going to get a good comp pick for him after this year. I see it as a strong possibility that he could get lost in the shuffle of our deep receiving corps and not come close to producing what he did last year. If that's the case, I don't see him getting that big a contract in free agency. I think his value might be the highest it will ever be at this very moment.

Bird in the hand, did I use that phrase correctly? Take the pick now, if it’s available. If Patrick garners enough production to give the Broncos a high comp pick you’re projecting on worse case scenario (i.e., multiple injuries and/or extreme regression) and I’m not sure any team should be doing that when making personnel decisions. Back up plans are fine, but you have to project to some sort of mean, not an extreme.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Patrick having good production means other players got hurt.

Seriously though, we tendered Patrick at a 2nd round level. Why would we accept much less in a trade? Especially before we know if Sutton is 100% and Ham(string)ler can stay healthy for more than a game or two. How shitty would it be for Sutton to miss time with the inevitable swelling and soreness and Hamstringler to miss games after trading Patrick to the Ravens for a 4th or 5th round pick leaving Jeudy, Spencer, and Benson as our WRs. I actually like having the depth. It would be like trading Callahan away because we have Surtain only to watch Darby go down. Would blow the whole awesome secondary thing right outta the water.

Perhaps interesting that Patrick apparently isn’t practicing today…

That is a lot of assumptions on a lot of What Ifs.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
