I am surprised that JOK has fallen out of the first round. To me it means either their is medical issue or teams believe he is safety over LB.
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

I think a lot of it has to do with the recent success...or lack thereof...of these hybrid players that don't really have a position coming into the league. They usually don't have any success or it takes a while to figure out where they are best suited. Part of me hopes he is there at 40 from a pure talent perspective, but another part of me has no clue where he plays in this defense.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't come off the board at the top of the 2nd. To much talent and if you can not figure how to get onto the field, then you're not a good DC.

But I think that's the question DC's are asking...is he a WILL in a 4-3? Can he be an off ball LB in a 3-4? Is he a safety? Colleges can get away with running 4-2-5 and 3-2-6 schemes with small LBs regularly, but it's just not as common in the NFL...yet. I don't know, I just think it's hard for an NFL DC to say, "I can run him at this spot on early downs, then transition him to a completely different position on passing downs." JOK has a ton of talent and he'll get drafted early tonight. It'll be interesting to see where he goes and how he is used.

personally I think his best fit is a 4-3 WLB.....
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

The question that comes to my mind is whether or not his smaller frame will hold up to what's asked of an inside linebacker should a team draft him and play him there. Smaller bodied guys don't tend to fare well inside when they're asked to stop guys like Derrick Henry.

I get the concept that defenses run in nickel and dime packages more often nowadays, but that's why we're seeing guys like Parsons, Davis, Cox, Collins...who can not only play in coverage, but also have the size to butt heads at the LOS. Watching games on JOK...he's just not very good shedding blocks.

Being a diehard Notre Dame fan, I've watched every play of JOK's in college. I have a hard time seeing him at inside linebacker. I think he's best at Strong Safety, and bringing him down for blitzes. Coach Kelly said that he is going to need a very defined role to thrive in the NFL. But JOK is the real deal. He can hit like a brick, blitz with the best of them, can read offenses and QB's well, and can cover any slot receiver in the league

Is it weird and wrong to want to comp him to Troy Hair-a-malu?

    I want to hair-amal-you!

Speaking of- PM on the way!
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

No one wants to type his name. He is the LB. He is very good. Extremely fast. Well in coverage. Just a smaller guy. Kinda like wesley woodyard except quite a bit better. People are trying to figure out if he is a LB- a S- or a "spur".......My question is what is the size of Derwin James for the chargers? Maybe he is a poor mans Derwin.
