I think he can be better...but will it be good enough to invest in him long term? I'm not so sure. So, I'm all for bringing in a veteran to mentor him and step in if he does fall off the cliff...but I'm not really interested in giving up draft capital to trade up for the 4th or 5th best QB in a draft that only has ONE elite QB prospect in it. I might be interested in Fields, but not for what it will cost to get to pick 4.

Fields and Lance are elite prospects.

Good grief you hate Jones so much that your saying absurd shit.
The absurd take is saying Jones is better at ANYTHING than Hurts.

    He’s a backup talent, though.

I’ve always been okay with Lock over drafting a rookie. If Watson is in play (i.e. not a sex offender), obviously he’s the guy I’d want. I feel Lock will do well this season. I think he showed flashes last season and if he can start stringing together more good habits than bad, he can be a pro bowl caliber player. He may never be Aaron Rodgers, but he can develop into a Russell Wilson/Dak Prescott type. To be honest, all we really need him to be is Ryan Tannehill (since his Nashville revival).

So, if Parsons and Sewell both fall to #9, who are you taking?

    Dude! Flip a coin?

It’d be Parsons because ILB has been an issue fir so long, it’d be Sewell because I’m obsessed with the OL.

It’d be Sewell if Jamin Davis wasn’t skyrocketing up the board, it’d be Parsons if half the league didn’t have a huge need at T.

I think it’d be Sewell ... at the moment.

For me, it’s gotta be Sewell. T, especially RT, has been a black hole for so long on this team. James is an absolute unknown right now. Will he play? Can he play? Our ILB situation, while not ideal, isn’t as bad as our RT situation. Yeah, Jewell’s a JAG but AJ is a good player. Bolles just got an extension but he’s only coming off one year of good play. If he falls off again, Sewell can go to LT and Bolles to RT. If not, Sewell would solidify the right side against some of the better pass rushers in the league and the division. Most of the top pass rushers now line up vs the RT most often (Von, the Bosas, the Watts, Barrett, etc). I remember how frustrating it was playing against the Faid when their Oline was really good. Seemed like Carr had all spay to throw and they could run at will. I think there’s no better way to help Lock than give him a little more time in the pocket to make good decisions. Dude had to run for his life a lot last year between Cush being a rookie and RT being a disaster. Imagine having a pro owl caliber RT?

sewell. . . no character concerns, and a good OT can play deep into his 30s. . . plus, the idea of giving munchak 330 pounds of raw badass to work with is just fun AF. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I go Parsons. OT is much deeper than ILB and part of the reason we brought Munchak in was his ability to take later round talent and mold it into starting material.
