    Default Jets Week!

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

If they're not going to play Driskel, it has to be Rypien. He knows the system far better than Bortles does at this point. If they play Bortles, it's because they really are trying to lose this game.

Tough to win on a Thursday when a team is good. I think they lost 3 straight to the dog ass Jets?

I don’t think I can stomach another Driskel outing after today. Rypien, Bortles, whoever. All just placeholders until Lock gets back.

Thank god for the short week to get this over with. If we win or lose whatever, the mini-bye after Thursday will give whatever backup more time to prepare while we wait on Lock. At this point I just want Lock back ASAP so we can see what we have and what direction we have to go. In my head, we got a preseason after all and its the first 4 games of this ruined season.

This team badly needs a win. Whether it is Gase or Fangio, whoever loses is looking at the hot seat. I would not sleep on Sam Darnold.

Offensively, the team needs to get the ball out quickly, and Shurmur needs to have routes in place for the quarterback to dump the ball off to. The play Lock got hurt on, there was no quick inside route being run, so all Lock could do is try to extend the play with his legs or go down. 2nd half against the Steelers there was an adjustment, but then this week Driskel wasn't anticipating reads. A solid short-passing game kills the blitz.

    Nada.

And I am going to kick myself in the ball saying this, but I hope we start Blake Bor.....I hope we start Blake Bo. Ok, get it together UR. Blake Bortl.

Blake Brtls. There I said it.

But Rypen sucks. Jeffe is bad too. Bortles can at least read a d and throw. He sucks. We need Drew back, but for now we are better off with balake.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

at this point, i don't care at all who they start. . . horse shit, dog shit, cow shit. . . what's the difference?
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Bortles should have been the guy we signed this off-season. Or Kap or Cam or someone with legit starting experience. I'm not sure how Driskel was the best we could do for a backup QB. All 3 of those guys have better resumes and could have been had at or near league minimum.

You might have a point with Bortles.

I think it was money, honestly with the other two. My speculation is Cam took less than he was demanding to play in New England. Elway isn’t going near Kaepernik.

Yeah those two probably were unlikely, but I just don't see how Driskel got signed and Bortles didn't this off-season. Dude wasn't that bad in Jax. He wasn't great, but he should be a top tier backup level player.

It’s possible Bortles didn’t sign because no one was offering a starting spot so he and his agent decided to wait for a situation like this.

What kind of money did Bortles get?
