Atwater, we've been having fine, lively debates without RINO, TDS, Trumpers and similar terms. Re-opt in to P&R and give it a shot.

Speaking of people i havent seen in a while, where has Nynja been at?

I think Atwater will go back in there, i told him shit is fine even without the buzz words.

He hasn't posted since just prior to elections. Checked that the other day too. Seems the election may have caused some time off for some?

We haven't even had to do a lot in there. Most have been doing really well with the new rules. Pretty happy with it so far.

I don't mind the RINO comments, but surely there is a classier way to tell somebody they aren't republican enough.

The problem, I suppose, is that it's been used in a manner to disparage some, where in other cases, it's simply factual. Take yourself, I think you will admit that when you look at your views and the Republican platforms, you were Republican in name only, or said another way, a Republican so you could participate in primaries.

In general it's descriptive (like TDS ), but I also get why for the sake of peace and harmony it's better just leaving all of them out of the forum. At this point, better to err on the side of being like a Church social, then drive the mods to early graves or have another round of "should we just shut it down" conversations.

P.S. WTF is a church social like. I've used the phrase, but it just occurs to me, I've never been to one and have no clue.

The problem with RINO is that it was used multiple times directed at one poster and then when the rules changed it was used in general. So to avoid the BS, it was listed in the rules along with TDS and other such words as that sent a lot of posters over the edge. We decided to remove some of the words that were some people's triggers and caused them to react negatively.

It was set out in the original post as the rules, you break em, you get banned. You broke it, you got banned.

You want to post TDS, Rino and the likes of demeaning those you post with, find a place that allows it.

I personally find some aspects of the new rules to be a little oversensitive, so I understand Atwater's frustration. However, I am totally okay with the mods and these rules, because this is not my message board and because I would rather be a little less snarky and abrasive in the way I talk politics to people on here and have it still exist than have to return to Bmania which is pretty much a total No Fun Zone.
