I have no problem with Tebow charging to speak, but it is usually do it during your playing career. You usually wait till after the career, especially as 1st rounder
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

Asking Mrs. Elway for $50k to speak at a charity event is insulting to say the least, I'm sorry. Even if his brother was acting as his agent he shouldn't have done that.

In this 1st post of mine in this thread, I'm going to respond based solely on being someone who has lived in a capitalist society all 51 years of my life. Do you any of you realize how much former presidents command for speaking fees?

His $50,000 puts him on the same level as Jimmy Carter; but nowhere near Clinton ($750,000), Obama ($400,000), or Bush ($175,000). I'm pretty sure that I read one time that either Reagan or the late Bush was paid over a million to speak in Japan back in the late 90s.

The speakers usually don't charge for charity events or at a reduce priced.

The question for me how much of the $50,000 would've gone to the personal charity that I understand Tebow ran and how much would've gone to his personal bank account. If the entire $50,000 went to needy children that he was ministering to in the name of Christ, then I wouldn't have had a problem paying him. If it went to him being able to live in Millionairville, then I'd have serious issues with it.

Tebow made Shane happy, shouldn't that count for something

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
