    I don't think it's a nice moment "regardless of outcome". If she fails for some reason it'll be used as "reason" to keep other women out of similar roles.

    Well, that would be allowing the crappy people to detract from a bad moment, just because they're crappy. At least in my opinion. We can appreciate firsts and the like. Enjoy what you can in life. This is worth enjoying. Again, at least in my opinion.
