When the NFL is more like the NBA this will be a better world to live in, all the OBWD’s will be hunkered down in their crawl space clutching their money and guns.

I'm an old school feminist, I believe women should be allowed to do anything they are individually capable of doing. If this woman is good at her job then she deserves the job and I hope she becomes a great coach. If a woman ever becomes an NFL HC based on merit, I'll be stoked. Nothing wrong with this at all.

Looks like it's just a matter of time in the NBA, as I think Becky Hammon will replace Popovich when he retires. Probably will be a lot longer in the NFL, but it wouldn't shock me to see eventually.

I agree, but Becky also played professionally did she not?

I don't think it takes longer because the NFL is a more sexist or exclusive environment (it is) but it's that there is no way for a woman to prove herself worthy of the opportunity outside of things like strength and conditioning.

For example, if you're looking for a DB coach does a former DB without coaching experience or someone who hasn't played beyond a high school level but maybe has a couple years coaching experience at a lower level make more sense?

I'd say it's probably equal, but we all know the answer.

I hope she's extremely successful and has a long career with the Broncos and in the NFL.

Well said. I would imagine that eventually we end up there with female NFL coaches. No idea how long.

Oh no doubt. It's admittedly much easier for women to break through in the NBA given the presence of major women's college hoops and the WNBA.

For a woman to be able to even crack through on a coaching staff at all in the NFL is insanely impressive.

I dislike the hire because she was a Knicks employee.

Has nothing to do with her gender snowflake.

Also the irony of getting triggered about people mentioning gender in a thread titled "broncos hire first female coach" is not lost on me.

    How dare they...
