So they set off a very large FAE by accident. Nasty stuff
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

It does, Texas City 1947 2300 tons blew up in a French freighter that caught on fire.

My (imperfect) understanding was that a large pressure vessel explosion was the cause of detonation. A large/powerful pressure vessel explosion could certainly substitute for blasting caps.

But I suppose something similar may have occurred in Beirut.

Holy ****, Batman. Wow, that shock wave that hit the people taking the videos really adds new reality to just how bad that was. Those also clearly show a raging fire going before the ammonium nitrate exploded.

    Wow.

It was sitting in uncontrollable elements for the past 6 years, making it extremely unstable. Anything could have lite it off, including static discharge.

And with that raging fire, was it a fire to the structure, that then ignited it (based on that video), or something lit off a small explosion, and then the rest detonated.

Either way, those last videos Hawg posted show how devastating those blasts were.

    You're thinking too small.

You need to open up a glass manufacturer!
