    Default 2020 Broncos Training Camp

    https://www.thedenverchannel.com/spo...-out-of-season

After weighing several factors over the last few days, Broncos defensive lineman Kyle Peko has opted out of the 2020 season, a source confirmed.

Peko, expected to compete for a backup job, is the first Denver player to choose against playing this season. For Peko, like with several other players making the decision, it was personal. Peko is married with two young children and his wife is a cancer survivor.
Makes sense with a compromised spouse at home.

Gem thanks for posting this. I have only read that he opt out for personal reasons. I like the kid and I didn't know that his wife had cancer.

    Default 2020 Broncos Training Camp

DENVER (KDVR) – Entering this season, Broncos head coach Vic Fangio has 41 years of coaching experience.

But 2020 will be a season like no other. No rookie mini camp, no OTAs, and starting Tuesday a training camp that will include quarantines and testing for COVID-19.

“The part that has been really hard and given me a couple of headaches is doing the daily schedule,” coach Fangio said during a virtual press conference Tuesday. “Those were some serious gymnastics. But when it comes to practice, I think it will be fairly normal. When on the practice field, we are playing football.”

Off the field is a different story. There will be the wearing of masks, social distancing, and lots of tests. Broncos team headquarters will act like a bubble as they try to keep the virus away.

Default ‘We have to deal with it’; Elway talks about Broncos COVID-19 preparations

DENVER (KDVR) – “We can’t sit here and bitch about it. We have to deal with it.”

Welcome to Training Camp 2020, a camp like we have never seen before due to COVID-19.

“How we handle it will determine our success,” Broncos President and CEO John Elway said during a virtual press conference Tuesday.

Fans have been replaced by quarantined players. Helmets have been replaced by tracking devices keeping players separated. And bottles of Gatorade for hand sanitizer. But can football work in the middle of a global pandemic?

Default 'It's going to be a slow build': Broncos to rely on veteran defense as young offense matures

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — After an offseason in which the Broncos loaded up on offensive weapons, hired a veteran offensive coordinator and put their faith in Drew Lock, President of Football Operations/General Manager John Elway cautioned Tuesday that Denver's offense may be a work in progress.

"They're definitely tempered," said Elway of expectations for Lock and the offense. "I don't think we can expect with no offseason for us to come out and be hitting on all cylinders. I know that we have spent a lot of time in Zoom meetings and Pat and his staff on the offensive side have spent a lot of time with it, but there's nothing like being on the practice field. It's going to be a slow build."

Though Lock did gather his teammates for offseason throwing sessions and was a vocal participant in virtual classroom sessions, he likely missed hundreds of reps as organized team activities were forced to move online. Lock won't face an easy task as he looks to improve on a five-game stretch in which he went 4-1, completed more than 64 percent of his passes and posted a 7-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Thanks for posting Carol. Man Coach looks good. I get excited when I hear him talk or see the facility they posted with Bradley C. Then I think, got to keep my excitement down. This could all fall apart really fast. But watching this today was really enjoyable.

As veterans reported for COVID-19 testing and the official start of training camp on Tuesday, John Elway sat down to discuss the various measures the organization is taking to ensure player safety, as well as his expectations for the team and what it will take for Drew Lock to take a jump in his second season.

Oh no! Who’s gonna bounce around the NFL during the regular season until the Broncos inexplicably bring him back for no apparent reason?

and all that said my oldest daughter has a bunch of respiratory conditions so I completely understand his reluctance to potentially expose his wife and obviously it's very tough not to given the nature of the game.

i knew you were gonna be upset as soon as i saw the headline. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
