I feel like literally every time some upcoming story is hyped as a bombshell, it's never a bombshell.

If he's buying off officials he's getting ripped off.

No need to. The whole team plays flat.

At this point I'm finding the intellect and talent levels of these billionaires to be pretty suspect.

It is local story, but in particular it did force out Larry Michaels = the voice of the team.
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

That's a pretty broad brush you are using.

A clear favorite is emerging to replace Redskins as Washington's new team name

There are some signals that could point to the new moniker, as betting odds, Dwayne Haskins and a mystery man all potentially point to a favorite for a new name: the Redwolves.

    ************************

But that's not where the only smoke for the Redwolves nickname comes from. Early July 13, Martin McCaulay tweeted that the Washington Redwolves nickname is currently embroiled in a trademark fight, and that should be of intrigue.

McCaulay, a 61-year-old actuary who lives in Alexandria, Va., has filed for 44 trademarks since 2016 — many of them possibilities for Washington's new team name. Team officials would need to come to an agreement with McCauley to transfer the trademark before before using the name. And McCaulay claimed on Twitter that "Redwolves" is the trademark that's currently in a tiff in court.

    ************************

Though the Redwolves nickname seems to be the favorite, there are a number of other names that have entered the betting sphere, if you care to risk some dollars to guess where Snyder and Co. might go with the next name.

All odds are courtesy of Sports Insider:

    Redwolves +150
    Redtails +300
    Warriors +500
    Generals +600
    Presidents +750
    Lincolns +1000
    Monuments +1000
    Memorials +1200
    Redhawks +1200
    Kings +1400
    Americans +1600
    Veterans +1800
    Skins +2000
    Roosevelts +2200
    Jeffersons +2500

I don't know why a number of these names that make reference to Native Americans would even be considered when there is a significant vocal block of Native Americans that want to do away with all mascots of their people, including proud ones the Florida State's "Seminole," which is endorsed by the Seminole tribe. It doesn't matter if they represent the majority of Native Americans when those who oppose them, except the Seminole tribe, aren't speaking up.

If they want a name the keeps the team colors, while improving race relations and honoring US Vets, the "Red Tails" refer to the "Tuskegee Airman." They were the WWII fighter squadron made up of the 1st African Americans aviators. They had the distinction of being the only such squadron to never have a bomber they were escorting shot down by enemy fighter aircraft.

Ha. I called Redwolves from the beginning, but jokingly said it was going to be the new Chiefs nickname.

I'm all for Jeffersons, just for the endzone celebrations.

The Chiefs name isn’t racist and shouldn’t be replaced. Washington’s nickname was an expressly racist term.

Chiefs is the same as Royals, Kings, Monarchs, etc.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I don't think that Snyder has time for all the legal wrangling that it would take to get the rights to the Washington Redwolves, I believe Redtails would be a better choice for the reasons stated in my previous post.

Like I said 2 of my posts ago, the Native Americans who want to do away with all mascots depicting their race has a loud voice. No Native Americans who have an opposing viewpoint, other then the Seminoles who are happy with their arrangement with Florida State, is speaking up.
