    Default 2020-2021 College Football Season

The season is a question mark right now.

I found this to be hilarious @ Norte Dame.

Someone with the screen name of AFan summed it up perfectly in the comment section:

Notre Dame…being Notre Dame…with that Huge Fan Base…Has always felt that they were Above-The-Fray as far a Conferences are concerned. They will have to Pay-the-Price of their “Superiority Complex” now.

Yeah, heaven forbid a school negotiate itself a better deal. What a bunch of losers. They totally should have had the foresight to predict a pandemic of global proportions .

I get it - that person, AFan, or whatever their stupid name is are/were upset that they, or their kids, were too average to get into N.D. I mean, shit, I didn't get accepted into Georgetown or Michigan, but I don't hate those schools just for that.

N.D.> the haters, and I ******* said it.

ND isn't the elite school they were in decades past. Yes, they've had double digit winning seasons 3 of the last 4 years, but they hadn't had back to back double win seasons since '92-'93. They've had 9 seasons over those 21 seasons of wins less than 60% of his games. They're on 6-12 in bowl games over the last 26 seasons, with only 1 major bowl game win.

Although that puts them well above schools like Wyoming, that doesn't make them an "A" list school that parents want to see their kids go to, unless they're Catholic.

Because N.D. has the gall to put academics before athletics. I know, crazy concept. But I'm talking about the scrub AFan and their respective mediocrity to get into the school. As in, academics.

Well, on 1 hand, they are tied for 15th in academics with Vanderbilt https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges...l-universities

On the other hand, your theory doesn't explain someone like me who has no kids to send to any college.

15th out of how many unis and colleges? Exactly.

On the other hand, I didn't reference you, I reference that fool, AFan.

If you want to hate N.D. go ahead. If you want to mock greatness, go ahead.

All is fair in love and college recruitment.

As a fan of a team that's never won a national title and probably never will, I still love college football and don't find the recruiting differences unfair at all. The better programs get the better players, that's just how it goes.

I see it this way as well. If Wyoming had the better program--and there is NO reason they could not build it--they would get the better players.

Wave, do you think they're playing this year?

And if they do, how bad would Lawrence have to do to not be the first overall pick?

Man, I don't know. It's seeming like best case at this point is that they play in the spring.

As to Lawrence, I'm not so sure he's the slam dunk number one pick if they do play this year. He really didn't improve from year one to year two at Clemson, and I've seen people say that Fields and even a guy named Trey Lance at NDSU could challenge for the first pick if Lawrence doesn't take another step forward this year.

The NDSU cat might be very, very legitimate. Fields looks, well, really strong.

But this is why I think Lawrence would have to drop a lot in production to be the first overall pick: not only does he flash a lot of talent, and have the highlights, his floor is very, very high. I don't know if that's true for the others. I could be wrong though.
