That second-tier free agent like Sanders and Stewart and people like that hasn't been a problem. But you don't want to piss off guys during the whole negotiation process you know
My buddy worked the SB ring presentation and said Miller and JFE had to be separated, they almost went to blows. This was before the contract extension.

not optimal. . . who knows how much, if at all, simmons is bothered by it. . . most guys do understand that it's a business, but it could still reduce his loyalty going forward. . . i highly doubt they'll want to tag him a second time, so i do think this obviously increases the odds that we lose him after the season, which would suck balls. . . safety is a critical piece in fangio's defense, and the cupboard is totally bare behind JS as of right now-- and jackson's not going to play at a high level forever. . . he's already on the wrong side of thirty, has had injury issues in the past, and is an undersized dude who really throws his body around. . . i wish they'd added some young talent in the draft to start grooming this year. . . ojimude-whatever might be a guy who has the skillset to fit there, but they're likely gonna need him at corner. . .

if simmons balls out like crazy, does that make it more or less likely that he re-signs in denver? and if he does earn a monster extension, would that increase the odds of denver potentially parting ways with von miller? lots of moving parts here. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I like Simmons, I respect that he’s been voted All-Pro, but the PFF rankings doesn’t mean jack shit.

    RE: Adams.

This is the thing about “salary cap hell” teams. No one is ever actually in salary cap hell.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I don't know man one first for young all pro doesn't sound right to me. I know you're going to have to pay him a bunch of money. But I want at least a first and the third

    It’s a Safety, I’d take the 3rd.

Safeties are more important to a defense these days than a LT is to offensive success...

Default Elway hopeful Broncos can agree to long-term deal with Justin Simmons in 2021 offseason

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Despite not working out a long-term deal with safety Justin Simmons ahead of July 15's franchise tag deadline, President of Football Operations/General Manager John Elway reaffirmed Tuesday the team's desire to keep Simmons in Denver.

"Hopefully, with what we think of Justin, we can get something done next year in the offseason," Elway said during his virtual media availability as the Broncos began training camp. "We'd like to make him a Bronco for a long time, because he's the type of person we want, as I said before this league year started. [It's] unfortunate that it didn't work out."

The Broncos are eligible to continue working on a long-term contract extension with Simmons following the final regular-season game of 2020. Simmons must play this upcoming season on the one-year franchise tag.

    Um ... what?

More important than a penalty-waiting-to-happen mental midget? Iinconceivable!
