Such is life. Antonio Brown had three chances within a year and squandered them all, there's also more to that story than "substance abuse".

I'm not sticking up for Irsay, he's a turd, but being the guy that writes the checks, or being the BFF of the guy who writes the check, means something.
Amended it for you. This shouldn't be true, but it is.

I'm not going to defend Brown, but he's just the lasted example of players not being told what the penalty for their actions until another team signs them, making teams more reluctant to sign him in a year that's already being racked by unprecedented uncertainty. Not wanting to defend Kareem Hunt, but Goodell did the same thing to him. I can't help but wonder who will challenge this policy with a civil suit that I'm sure Goodell & the league would loose.

Any lawsuit challenging that would be thrown out immediately because players, their contracts and their discipline are subject to a collective bargaining agreement. He’s able to put down a punishment for a player even when he’s a free agent because of the CBA.

The league does not have the same ability to punish an owner. It’s not the same thing, and really can’t be compared.

The only example I can think of comes from the NBA, where Donald Sterling was effectively banned from the NBA by a vote of the other owners, which ultimately led to him having to sell the team. But again, he owns the team, so he and his family still received the profit from the sale.

I guess the other that now comes to mind was Marge Schott, who was banned by the other owners and was also forced to sell her team.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Here's where we stand in the AFC west. Don't shoot me this is the science talking.
So acceptable positivity rates are < 5% for 2 weeks.
    California 5.7%
    Colorado 6.7%
So the Bolts and our team have a real shot at making it legit.
    Nevada 17%
    Kansas 11%

    Other states
    Florida 17%
    Texas 20%
    Georgia 12%

So to me it looks like a toss up. We might start a season. The rumors are the Big10 and Pac 12 are planning Spring football.

Most of College football sat on their ass, Hoping the virus would disappear, some Universities were proactive with safety measures like Michigan....That's why they want to play....The NFL is on a good track as long as players do what they are suppose to. The Indians sending that pitcher home in MLB who didn't follow protocol for example is a great example of how to keep going. They learned the hard way from the marlins fiasco.

The NFL has put a ton of effort into making this work its going to happen most likely without fans.....If there are fans allowed it wont be a lot and there probably wont be player interaction allowed. 66 players or something like that opted out and the players that did test positive were sequestered properly.

The key tests will be after teams days off and whether players follow the guidelines.....The broncos had their first day off and no one tested positive so at least Denver is doing what they are suppose to.....

College football doesn’t want liability, they’re just worried about money.

I would say there is like a 2% chance of any conference making it through an entire regular season

OK, I haven't been following closely, and the last I read, I thought there were supposed to be two preseason games. Figuring we were getting close, I went to see when the preseason games were, and they are all showing cancelled.

So, is it training camp, and then straight into the season?

Yep, they cancelled preseason a few weeks ago. Straight from camp to the season now.

SEC and ACC will play and finish no matter what happens, they could have players drop dead of COVID on the field and they’ll play and finish season. And their fans wouldn’t have any problem with it.
