    I don't think bell actually didn't understand why he couldn't wear 7. I think he simply asked and was denied.

    I have an internal debate between Rick Upchurch & Rod Smith for #80 because both are equally worthy. At the time of his retirement, Upchurch owned all of the NFL's single season & career punt return records. Smith still owns all of the Broncos' receiving records.

    I’m pretty sure he requested it and they had to explain it to him. I remember he asked why he couldn’t have it and they said it was retired and he asked why it was retired then they told him. ‘Ol Tater wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
