The damage:
* Forfeited their third-round pick in 2011.
* Fined $1.1 million.
* Forbidden from videotaping games during the 2020 season.
* Forced to sign Colin Kaep....oh, wait, that was Cam Newton.

Belichick denied any involvement but said

"We're competitive and we'll try to be competitive in every area,"

What's troubling is the Patriots felt they needed to cheat against the worst team in the NFL. Seriously? Sounds like a cheating addiction like the married guy caught hitting on his neighbor's grandmother - he's past the point of infidelity for the thrill of it and now does it because he just can't stop himself.

Don't sweat the third-rounder because the NFL will joyfully give it back as a comp pick for losing Brady.

Don't sweat the fine since Craft leaves more than that while tipping prostitutes.

And don't sweat the ban on taping since everyone now carries a smartphone which will be used to "accidentally" record other team's practices without their opponent's knowledge.

As for Newton, talk about a no-win situation, man. If the Pats win, he won't get the credit and if they lose, he'll be blamed for not playing like Messiah Brady. I don't know if any salary is worth the hell he's going to get from the Massholes.
