A couple weeks ago NE had five bucks in cap space.

    Now they have 25 million.

I still don't buy that they will be anything close to that bad. If they were going for Lawrence, why bring in Cam? I know you think he's the worst QB to ever play football, but if he can even get back to half of his best level of football, that's good enough to get them a few wins, especially in that awful division. I just don't see how they go worse than like 6-10, and that's not going to be close to bad enough to get the top pick.

They dont need to go winless to get Trevor. BB is a master at using the draft board.

Yeah but if the team who gets the first pick needs a QB, which is usually the case, why would they trade away the best QB prospect since Luck/Manning/Elway? BB would have to give away like his next 3 or 4 drafts to get that pick, at which point wouldn't even be worth it.

I just don't see anyone willingly giving him the next Brady. I'll change my avatar to Brady for a year if the Pats get Lawrence.

I don't doubt that the Pats would love to have him, it just doesn't make sense that they'd sign Cam if that's what they were shooting for this year. That signing tells me they are still trying to win.

Oh boy. Cam is just a stop gap just like Flacco was. They can still take a QB even with Cam on the roster.

I don't know which one of you is right. I do know that it would be funny if the Patriots somehow went .500 and couldn't hack it either way.

I think all BB is doing with Cam is making the Pats look like they are "trying" to the NFL. I have zero doubt they are in tank mode.

If that’s true why does his roster suck ass?
