Thread: Who Was The Broncos Worst QB Ever?

I can't recall ever seeing anyone in orange and blue so willing to throw a ball into the dirt or out of bounds or so needlessly take self-sacks. GEM coined "fainting goat" and that summed up Orton perfectly.
I forgot about that! That was pretty funny.

He wasn't close to the worst Broncos starting QB ever, but he wasn't great either.

"I don't know you treated me unkind. You coulda done better, but I don't mind. You kinda just wasted my precious time, but don't think twice it's all right." -- Bob Dylan pretty much sums it up.

Hmm, they go 9-7 with shit at QB but go 4-12 to 5-11 with a legitimate NFL talent? Fairytales.

Tim Tebow despite his athletic ability just couldn't throw an accurate pass. He failed with 3 teams which kinda tells you what the NFL thought of him.
Tebow didn't get a chance in New York. And, in Philly, he was improving when Chip Kelly cut him.

If we're going multi year starter I'd say Orton.
lmao sure. Tebow won a playoff game. Comparing him to Lynch in any way shape or form just reveals how much you hate tebow.

He got a chance in NY, he was too busy posing shirtless in the rain in front of media row.

Yeah that was bizarre. I defend him all the time. Not to Shane's obsessive level obviously, but to read this thread and conclude that I hate Tebow is just bonkers.

Btw, Shane, go watch the Lions game, when Teebs was asked to run an NFL offense, then come back and tell us when PL ever looked THAT bad.

PL was given a chance and never saw the field, that’s how it is supposed to be, that’s how it should’ve been for Tebow after that Lions game but the Broncos went out of their way to get him on the field. He failed miserably at what it takes to be an NFL QB.

The Lions game was the infamous "That's your quarterback," quote.

Tebow in today's offensive climate would be interesting.

But Mike Vick in today's draft climate...man...if you thought Lamar Jackson was fast and agile...whew chile.

The notion that NFL teams would pass up a viable starter caliber QB because they just hate Tebow because he's a Christian or something is beyond laughable.

They cut him because he sucked. Period. Three teams cut him because he sucked at throwing the ball. He even had a chance in New England with the coach who drafted him, and he still couldn't make it as a backup.

Then after it became clear that no NFL team wanted anything to do with Tebow as a QB, some teams tried reaching out to his agent to see if he would be interested in coming in for a try-out as a TE/slash runner.

He might still be in the NFL somewhere had he said yes. But, he told them that it was QB or bust. He demanded a legitimate chance to be a starting QB again. Nobody was willing to give it to him.

There is no better proof of his lack of ability than that.

Paxton Lynch is easily a worse QB than Tebow. Part of being a good QB is throwing the ball, yes, but it's also leading a football team and commanding the respect of a football team. The 2011 Denver Broncos believed that Tim Tebow could do enough to help them win football games, and despite impossible odds, fought their way to many improbable comebacks. When the going got tough, Tebow overcame his terrible accuracy issues, using his talent as a runner and supernatural powers to manipulate events in his favor.

Paxton Lynch? Never seemed to care about football. Wasn't respected as a leader. Elway told Kubiak to play him, and Kubiak refused in his last game as coach. Even Vance Joseph only reluctantly put Paxton in a game. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about Paxton's game. I wouldn't even want him on the practice squad.

Tebow isn't even in the conversation for "worst Broncos QB ever," because the 2011 season was a roller coaster that doesn't happen without him making plays.
