Default Mile High Morning: Broncos finish third on list of NFL's best offseasons

    The Lead

Over the previous few days, ESPN's Bill Barnwell has ranked every team's offseason from worst to best. During the first few days of the series of articles, the Broncos were nowhere to be found.

Finally, on Thursday, Barnwell released his top eight offseasons in the NFL. Denver made the medal stand, as the Broncos came in as the third-place finisher. Only the Buccaneers and Browns finished above the Broncos.

"In a world in which we don't really know whether Drew Lock is a viable NFL starter, John Elway did the best thing any general manager can do for a young, questionable quarterback: Go out and get playmakers for him," Barnwell wrote.

We should be number one. No one had a better draft. No one has a more talented offense. We signed a great OC and we are primed for success.

Believe it or not but most people think there’s an obvious issue at LT that’s been criminally ignored.

One weak spot on the team via an average player is a strength. We're loaded, fam.

Last we saw that average player was literally costing this team some wins.

Last play of Bolles ‘19 season saw him losing his temper and taking McManus out of game-clinching FG Range. 1 minute and 30 seconds later the season ends with Oakland going for a 2 point conversion and the win.

And how many wins do you think his average play give us because we're not paying an arm and a leg for average LT play? I'm just saying there are logistical arguments to be had. People really want a LT out of a crop of players who weren't worth a high first round pick to replace...a guy drafted in the 20's. I don't get it. I don't. We're in an era with first round LT's would be second rounders in past years. We're in an era where LT play is at the lowest it's ever been, at least in the modern era of football. And you want to draft that shit to replace someone you don't like, but is far more productive than anyone wants to admit?

It's like driving a 2012 Camry and paying a chunk of cash to buy a 'top of the line' 2015 Camry...well at least it was top of the line for it's period..when it was originally made. You already have the ******* Camry. It's a ******* Camry. No one's excited for it. Yeah, you can afford the newer model but you're choosing to spend all your cash on it. It's not worth it.

Brady hasn't had an elite line in years. PFM hadn't had a great line since the back half of his Indy days. Rodgers, Big Ben, Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Phillip Rivers, all guys who produced with less than stellar lines.

Unless your line is 'get your QB killed' bad, and ours isn't, your QB can pick up the ******* slack. Wanna know how I know that? Because it's not just those guys I listed above, all either obvious HoFers or deeply deserving of consideration...a rookie QB named Drew Lock did it last year, too.

I never treated you like a hype man.

You don't have to put on that Redlight, either.

Oh, I guess my subconscious blocked out that huge “win” vs the vaunted Raiders.

I guess Bolles is awesome now.

That win helped us take a WR and not an overrated LT, so Bolles is probably one of the biggest heroes of the season.

We went 4-1 down the stretch last year. So last time we saw Bolles and Lock, were weren't losing much.

His play was considerably better than we've seen with Lock, maybe that alone will be enough? It's not like he has a magic potion but at least he doesn't have to protect a statue.

Yeah flacco will make any line look bad because you have to play literally perfectly so he won't get sacked. Lock can still make plays when the protection isn't perfect, which takes a lot of pressure off the o-line.

I think the OLine will be much better inside but T will be just good enough to get them through the Season.
