But it's not also hard to presume that only black people can play RB or CB?
I just think the NFL and winning in the NFL is so important that it has truly become one of the purest forms of a meritocracy that we have (major sports in general not just NFL). There is so much money at stake and I just can't see a nefarious reason that would keep a black guy from becoming a HC if he was the best candidate.
I just don't see injustice here. I also think this will eventually start fixing itself (if you see it as a problem) as the QB position evolves. More and more black QBs at every level and also more and more back up black QBs. Eventually those guys will be HCs.

Well, we know that young black men are more likely to pursue athletics as a career, it's an economics thing. And we also know for a long time the perception was that black people couldn't be QB's. Until that was snuffed out various times.
It's not a pure meritocracy, though. That's the point. You have to understand that it's an impossibility, literally an impossibility, that for 68% of the league to not want to be/capable of being a HC. It's a problem in the sense that people who deserve an opportunity aren't getting one and it's because of their race. Just because there is a race issue doesn't mean you have a nefarious cohort of bigots. Like one of the articles said, right now OC's are getting hired more often than not and POC are more likely to coach defense. That was a trend back in the day because defense wasn't complicated so guess where head coaches at various levels put a lot of players who are POC.

Yea, thats not a stance ill ever be on board with. Just to hypocritical in my opinion, saw this in Canada when they used sexism and racism to put more women into positions of being MP. Its like me saying "hey! if you kill all the religious people and all the lefty loons the world will be perfect!"
I mean, it shouldnt be that hard to get more POC into head coaching or GM positions without resorting to the same measures that got them there in the first place. No, my mind cant be changed on this position.
I agree with just hiring the best and most qualified.
Here's the rub, those talking about why so many more players are POC and less coaches are POC are talking about the same thing!
What? How can that be?
Most coaches were players in college or had short NFL careers and got into coaching at a younger age. That NFL player wanting to get a job as a position coach at 30 is going up against a guy at 30 with 6 years experience and a proven track record.
Who gets the job?
