Default Broncos signed DT Christian Covington

    Is this guy any good?

    CHRISTIAN COVINGTON
    DL, DENVER BRONCOS

Broncos signed DT Christian Covington, formerly of the Cowboys, to a one-year, $1.75 million contract. The deal includes $625,000 guaranteed. Covington was used far more often than expected for the Cowboys last year, totaling 28 tackles, three quarterback hits, and one sack across 481 snaps as a six-game starter. He'll play a similar rotational role behind Mike Purcell and third-round rookie McTelvin Agim this upcoming season.

Solid rotational piece. Casey, Harris, Jones, Purcell, Walker, Covington, Agim, Heath, Peko. Not a bad group to find a good rotation in.

I think Walker might be in trouble.

Covington's deal came a day after the Broncos waived two defensive linemen who had signed futures contracts: Jay-Tee Tuili and Deyon Sizer, along with tight end Bug Howard and safety Tyvis Powell.

I met him a couple years ago when he was playing for the Texans and they hosted this Father's Day event called First Down Dads. Hell of a nice guy. Good depth signing. He's Canadian though, so there's automatically some trust issues.
