Default Christian McCaffrey becomes highest paid RB ever

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

He is definitely one of their better players that is for sure. Good for him.

Guess we should be glad we didn't draft him?

Maybe, but then again if Lindsey ever meets his kind of production we will either be forking out the money like that for him or lose him.

He's all they have, so he was in the driver seat. I don't think a world exists where I'm paying any running back 16 mil per year. Ouch.

I’m one of Lindsey’s biggest proponents, but he is not meeting McCaffrey production and he is not as good as McCaffrey. The Broncos will have to pay Philip to keep him, but I don’t think you have to worry about it being anywhere near McCaffrey money.

RB's only put up those type of numbers when a team doesn't have much else. In the pass happy, RBBC, spread offense world we live in, it just isn't going to happen often. And if it does...that RB is reducing his NFL life span. So...get the cash when you can.

I don’t think this is precedent setting like a quarterback salary, where the next guy automatically gets more. There isn’t a next guy.

He had 600 yards more from scrimmage in 2019 than the next-best skill player in the league, Ezekiel Elliott.

Makes you wonder if he'll survive his contract.

Dude is a warrior though - like his dad - so maybe?

His numbers are bloated and he's overrated as a player because of it. The Panthers panicked.

I'll agree his numbers are bloated due to the lack of any other weapons and as a result, the Panthers had little choice but to offer this contract...but I won't agree on the overrated part. He's a great back, but I just don't personally value backs at that type of contract.
