Bridgewater only attribute is he’s a likeable guy. Nobody cares about his anticipation because it doesn’t amount to anything. The only thing you can depend on with teddy is on 3rd and 10 he’s going to throw the 2 yard out leading the target out of bounds almost every time.

The problem with dumping on Bridgewater is that while he's a flawed game manager, that style of play and production unfortunately is superior to Lock's, arguably.

Also x2 if neither Teddy nor Drew can ball out with our offensive weapons and a badass defense supporting them, then they are useless.

At least a Lock vs Teddy QB battle is significantly less terrible than any other QB battle we've had to deal with over the last 5 years. This is a horrifying list.

Teddy had a better offense than Lock did last year don’t kid yourself. Both of his WRs went over 1,000 yds receiving by taking his shitty check down throws for massive YAC. Yeah, he lost C McC to IR, but his backup did a good job and his Oline was actually better than Denver’s. Don’t forget that Jeudy and Hamler shared the league lead in drops last year.

    No it’s really not.

Lock has never even been an average QB.

His receivers were nobodies. I don't buy what you're selling. Teddy's situation was worse, but he did a decent job. Not so for Lock.

But Jeudy/Ham didn't do any favors, you're right.

You can argue that Lock is better, but to flippantly dismiss it given Lock's track record, your blatant homerism, and poor arguments makes it hard to defend you at this point.

This isn't the 1980s anymore. You don't get 5 years to figure out how to play QB. Look at all the good QBs in the NFL right now. Every single one of them other than maybe Tannehill showed promise and flashes of brilliance in their first season as a starter. The amount of guys who are as bad as Lock has been through 18 starts and went on to be great is a really short list of guys if you just look at the last 10 years or so. Maybe Lock will be the exception. He probably won't.

Allen did it in three years, and his flash of athletic godhood in years one and two were the only reasons why he kept his job. Shit his results were so mixed in year two that some pundits who weren't high on him coming out of the draft said he might become a great QB. That's really the issue with Lock: his flashes of 'greatness' aren't all that great. And it pains me to say that because he's a really nice kid with good talent.

    Is it totally hopeless? No.

Allen was also a top 10 pick who projected to have that talent. That gives you more leeway. He also made a massive jump from year 1 to 2. Using Allen as an example of what Lock could be is completely ridiculous.

As 2nd round picks, Lock deserves about as much as Oz deserved.

Lol. It's not ridiculous at all. Say Lock is the next Elway or Manning would be ridiculous. 2020 was a shitfest. He lost his #1, had 2 rookies with a massive case of the dropsies, a new OC (again) in a year where prep was fubar league wide, and he got hurt. Does that excuse the multiple bonehead plays he made? Certainly not. However, he has showed flashes and the small sample size does have some asterisks. I expect him to win the job, and I'm also happy we picked up Teddy for insurance. It's make or break time for Lock, but I think he deserves the chance. No more excuses, it's go time. Personally, I feel it's about a 60% chance he has a fine year and the Broncos serve up some serious crow. Either way, you dance dance with the girl you brought first.

Anyone who is saying that Lock hasn't displayed flashes of pure talent is lying to themselves.
