Different style's though. Plummer was on the verge of a porn 'stache. Flacco basically had a goatee without the chin part. Very well done.

I'm waiting for Lock to throw a left-handed interception. Then we'll revisit this conversation.

Guess we are riding with Lock. Excuse me, just threw up in the back of my mouth.
Just did a search of this and only found one tweet from some random ESPN affiliate in NY. Color me skeptical.

I remember one year when he led the league in pass attempts where the intended receiver couldn't be determined. True story. I had never heard of that before.

Nobody knows ish at this point. I'm still of the opinion that Houston has the leverage and wouldn't be surprised if they call his bluff

Depends on how serious he is about sitting out. If you're Houston, wound you rather have Watson sitting at home not playing for you, or the multiple first round picks you'd get for him + his contract off the books?

Depends on how far up their ass their heads are. If the new GM has any wits about him, he'll offload that contract, take the picks and players he'd get from trading Watson, and be honest about the fact that they're in a massive rebuild and are likely years away from being a contender.

the guy is the leader of your team on the field-- even if you can force him to play for you, do you really want to be paying him $30 million if you know he isn't bought in to your organization? that's probably the number one reason that when big stars ask for a trade, they typically end up getting one. . . an initial stare-down, and maybe some protracted posturing, is SOP-- but most teams don't want to go forward long-term with one of their top guys being a malcontent. . . people always drool about the prospect of the team "sticking it to" the rebellious athlete, but they're ultimately employees, not team property. . . is it worth wasting a season losing 15-16 games with AJ mccarron just to prove a point?
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

well, sure-- he's had about a billion reps. . . he's played more in camp than lock has in the NFL. . . if you're still saying it at the end of the season, it's a different conversation. . .

Agreed...but the basic point was to get some folks to slow down and use actual reason in their arguments. Of course you would bet on Lock over Dalton going forward. But the horse needs to stay ahead of the cart. Lock has the P word. That's a dangerous word. Especially for a QB. There is a lot to like. But some need reeled in a bit.

And we're back to your reading comprehension, or lack thereof. I never advocated for Dalton. Just said he's the better QB right now. And the claims you make regarding his run in Cincy is also a bit shortsighted.

That said...I really hope Lock grows up, takes the playbook seriously and worries about winning over image. I hope he learns to throw the ball away. I hope he realizes a 5 yard gain on 3rd and 10 is OK in the 2nd quarter with a defense as good as ours. He hasn't shown that yet. I truly hope he does. I like the kid.
