Default Derek Wolfe joins Wink's Ravens on one-year deal

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Shelby Harris stays and Derek Wolfe goes.

That may have been the odds-on way to bet throughout the Broncos’ offseason and that’s exactly how it turned out over the past 24 hours as Harris rejoined the Broncos on Friday night and Wolfe agreed Saturday afternoon with the Baltimore Ravens.

The surprise was that it took Denver’s free-agent defensive linemen nearly two weeks to find employment, and that each wound up with relatively modest, one-year deals.

Well I didn’t want to see Malik Jackson leave. I’m starting to think they don’t care what I think.

This was news I was hoping not to see. I am very fired up for Wolfe because if this is where he signed, thats what he feels is best for his family.

Was hoping we could find a way to keep him.

I love the big dog and glad he got a ring here.

Best of wishes to you Derek!!!
    IN PATON I TRUST.

Love the guy, gonna miss him. He loves Broncos Country too, he tribute was pretty sweet. Wish him the best, but from a business standpoint, Shelby for half the price is pure win.

So did I. I was hoping he’d retire a Bronco.

Default Fan favorite Derek Wolfe signs one-year deal with Ravens

DENVER -- Derek Wolfe boasts a career defined by toughness. He has pushed through a battery of injuries, continuing to silence critics with strong performances.

Wolfe's style of play -- accompanied with a howl for big moments -- made him a fan favorite in Denver. Ideally, he wanted to retire with the Broncos, the only team he has ever known. The Broncos never made an offer, and he found a nice landing spot.

Saturday, Wolfe told Denver7 he has agreed to a one-year, $6 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens with $3 million guaranteed, ending an eight-season run in Denver.

"It's a chance to compete for a Super Bowl. They have a great defense," said Wolfe. "I spent eight years here. Denver is always going to be home. This is where I am going to raise my family. My wife loved living here. I will always be a part of the Broncos one way or the other. I have no hard feelings. I get it. It's a business. The Broncos have to do what's best for the Broncos."
