    It's just the way he said it, something to the effect of "now I need to work hard," or something that had this latent whiff of lack of full effort. I used to be a slacker hardcore, it felt...familiar, Davii. I'm just saying...my gut told me something.

    It wasn't about making more $. He was giving shit effort prior to and at the beginning of his time in Denver and his wife said if he quit, she was leaving. She told him, i didn't marry no quitter. Get it together or I'm gone.

    It's great for Denver, he thought he was big $ on 1 year of really good, he found the market didn't agree. He's going to come in guns blazing for that big contract next year.

    I agree that it's a windfall for Denver. Maybe I am mistaken about money being a part of it.

    So they need a Derrick Brooks?

    This is awesome. DL is in good shape. Need one more serviceable corner and paul Richardson would be a nice cheap grab too before the draft.

    I feel the need to say this, let’s hope he wasn’t re-signed to play NT.

    Edit; Wasn’t re-signed to play NT.

    He started last year as NT, and it really didn't work out too well because we didn't have a true run-stuffer on the field. That's why they tendered Purcell. I'd expect Casey to take over for Wolfe, Shelby to keep his spot on the other end, and Purcell to continue starting at NT. Walker and Jones will rotate in.

    It's certainly possible we do see Shelby slide in at NT in pass rush packages, but he just doesn't eat blockers the way Purcell does.

    Exactly, I ****** up that post, he’s not a NT, it was a curious coaching decision to begin with, Zach Kerr was a better fit at NT ... thank god for Purcell.

    In base defense;
    DE— Harris
    NT— Purcell
    DE— Casey

    In Nickel;
    Harris 5tech
    Casey 3tech

    Purcell almost singlehandedly saved Denver’s season on defense. Those first two games were utter horse shit.

    And, no, I am not being hyperbolic.
    *The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

    He did the right thing, btw, but he’s still dead to me.

    I love Wolfe as much as the next guy, but he's been here 8 seasons and only played 16 games in 3 of them. Not a guy you can count on for the entire season. Shelby Harris was a much better investment. I doubt it pans out for the Ravens, but I wish him the best when facing non-Denver AFC West opponents.
