I like the trade for sure and considering the ridiculousness of the CB market...the contract is tolerable. Might look even better if they can get Slay for a 3rd from DET. A lot to invest in the secondary, but Bouye isn't guaranteed...Flacco and Miller will be off the books over the next few seasons and the cap is expected to increase significantly. So...why not? Slay, Bouye and a solid DL or two and free agency will be a hit.

This also allows the Broncos to keep the third round comp pick that they will likely get for Harris instead of cancelling it out by signing a guy like Jones.

Callahan should be back too. He was pretty well thought of until this injury.

The secondary is getting younger which is good, as long as the front 7 are strong we should be improved.

Bouye, Callahan, resign Bausby, Rookie CB, maybe sign Prince Amukamara and that's a solid core if Callahan can stay healthy. If anyone goes down to injury then we are in a world of hurt.

We were in a world of hurt this year with a top 10 pass D and the #1 RZ pass D. We had harris and nothing. A bunch of busts and UDFA etc....

Your proposal would make me tinlgy in the pants!
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I love the idea - but we've got $11 million going to Kareem Jackson, at least $12 going to Simmons on the franchise tag, $8 going to Callahan, $13 going to Bouye... Not sure they can spend much more on the secondary. Which is why I think Elway was squeezing CHJ on the last couple million.

This is not a hottake, Bouye should not have any effect of draft plans.

I absolutely love the trade though.

I hear you - I'm not saying it's impossible, just that there are a lot of holes to fill and given his salary, it would seem that Bouye is supposed to step into the CHJ #1 role.
