Default Eric Bieniemy becomes logical candidate for Colorado job

Not sure if this is the right location for this topic, but I couldn't find a college football forum. If the mods believe there is a better location, please move this thread.

According to this article, Eric Bieniemy has become a logical choice for the Buffs.

I would love to hear the thoughts and insights from the posters regarding whether they believe it would be a good, smart decision for Colorado to hire Eric Bieniemy as its head football coach? I didn't even realize that Mel Tucker resigned or quit recently, but believe that Eric Bieniemy would probably make a good head coach for the Buffs. I just wonder if he or who ever is hired as the new coach will be able to assemble a good to great staff given the timing. I sure hope so because I keep hoping and rooting for the Buffs to become good again, and would love to see Eric Bieniemy or the next coach return the Buffs to prominence in college football.

Oops, I just located the High School and College Football forum. This thread should probably be moved there.
Too bad she doesn't cheer for the Patriots dressed like this

It makes sense and I hope it happens.

He would be a great hire, IMO.

Bieniemy might be able to revitalize recruiting.

I think it would be a good move also. However, he is on the short list of upcoming NFL head coaching positions. If he stays with KC, after next season he probably gets a HC spot with an NFL team.
As much as I would like to see him elevate the Buffs, Eric, himself has to be thinking this also.

Eric Bieniemy should stay right where he is.

Didn't Green Day write a song about him?

    Do you know Bieniemy?

I would love to land EB but I think he should stay in NFL ... and I’m a lifelong Buffs fan.

My current favorite for the job is Jim Leonard.

Sounds like they are down to Troy Calhoun from Air Force or Bret Bielema. Give me Calhoun of those two.

Calhoun is still at AF? Damn, he got hired there when I was still in the Springs, seems forever ago. He did a fine job at AF, give the man the job. CU deserves better than being a always smoldering dumpster fire.

Lombardi is reporting that it's his job if he wants it. Fingers crossed - I like it. CU fans are pissed that they aren't going for Steve Sarkisian - but this feels like the smart play instead of going for the splashy sexy play. Calhoun has a great background and has been super loyal to the AFA - I feel like he'd stick around for a while and can mold some inferior talent into a winning team.
