Calhoun has a great background and has been super loyal to the AFA - I feel like he'd stick around for a while and can mold some inferior talent into a winning team.
Calhoun would be a better long play. He’s more likely to stick around. Sarkisian might even make more money now and if he did take it he’d just run off for the next high-paying gig at the first jump.

I'm ok if he doesn't make the cut.

Did you guys know that Bill Parcells once coached at AF?

Default Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy withdraws from Colorado coaching search

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Colorado head-coaching job, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Bieniemy's decision, as first reported by 9News in Denver, follows that of Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, who also has dropped out of the search, sources told ESPN's Chris Low on Thursday.

Calhoun will be an interesting hire.

He's a good coach and will have access to far more talented players than he ever did at AF.

    I like it.

Now it sounds like they're going back to the drawing board based on all the local reports...

It sounds like they offered Sark, and were hopeful he was going to accept yesterday, but he decided to stay at Alabama...

Not sure what happened with Calhoun, but I guess that's not happening now either.

CU has made Darrin Chiaverini interim head coach, and he is my choice for head coach. He truly cares for CU.

    Interim?

Does that mean no one else wanted the job and they don't believe in Chev enough to make him HC?

    This should end well

They immediately named him that after Tucker bailed. They possibly did this so the recruits would feel better about the situation - I don't know.

Default Report: Eric Bieniemy might not be out of Colorado mix

Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy withdrew his name from consideration for the University of Colorado job.

    Unless he didn’t.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA (who reported Bieniemy was out last night), the door might not be completely closed.

“There might be change in plans. Stay tuned!” a source close to Bieniemy told Klis, who has now covered both possible eventualities.

I deleted tweet on Bieniemy “Stay Tuned!” after realizing I may have been contacted by someone pretending to be someone else. I apologize to all involved and who are following this story. #9sports

Buffs wanted to interview Greg Roman ... 5 minutes later he was given an extension by Ravens ... this is hilarious.

Just pry Bielema away from the NFL and call it a day.

Chev is a desperation move, he wasn’t any good as a coordinator ... this is no time to get sentimental.

Darrin Chiaverini was named interim head coach on February 12, 2020 after Mel Tucker resigned to take a similar position at Michigan State.

Chiaverini, 42, completed his fourth year as the wide receivers coach on the CU staff. This past season, he also served as the program's assistant head coach. He joined the staff on January 1, 2016 from Texas Tech and was one of three coaches retained from the 2018 staff by Tucker. He was given the title of assistant head coach just ahead of the 2019 season.

He continues to be nationally recognized as a top recruiter; Rivals.com has now named him one of the top 25 recruiters in the country for the last three recruiting classes (2018, 2019 and 2020).

Chiaverini served as co-offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for his three seasons (2016-18) under previous head coach Mike MacIntyre. He had returned to his alma mater where he lettered four times as a wide receiver under head coach Rick Neuheisel from 1995-98. He accepted his new roles on December 15, 2015, but remained with Tech for its bowl game.

In 2016, his first season on the CU staff, he helped guide the Buffalo offense to one of its best years overall in recent memory. Colorado averaged 446.3 yards per game, its best figure in 20 seasons, with the school’s fourth-best conversion rate in the red zone in school history dating back to 1957 at 89.5 percent (51-of-57, with 37 touchdowns). His receiving corps hauled in 199 catches for 2,724 yards (13.7 per) with 19 touchdowns that season, and over the course of his three years, have 653 receptions for 8,208 yards and 49 scores.

In his third year co-coordinating the offense in 2018, the Buffaloes had a surprising historical first, as CU boasted for the first time in the same season a 1,000-yard rusher (1,009 by Travon McMillian) and receiver (1,011 by Laviska Shenault, though he missed three-plus games with a foot injury and still earned first-team All-Pac 12 Conference honors from the league coaches as he led the nation in receptions per game). And for second straight year, quarterback Steven Montez just missed becoming the second player at Colorado to throw for 3,000 yards in a season (2,975 in 2017; 2,849 in 2018).
